As others mention, the initiative is great, but it needs to be shown to the customers in checkout and order confirmation page so they know about this. As a shopify this should not be a difficult thing to implement.
Thank you for taking the time to write your review; we really appreciate you sharing your feedback with us on how the Offset app can be approved. I can see why having the option to offset carbon emissions more visible to customers would be beneficial, and I will be sure to pass your comments onto our app development team. -Victor, Shopify Support
Folks, I love this App! Could you make a badge for those Stores which are using it to display it to our customers?! That would be amazing!
I'm thankful to Shopify for offering this program, and for covering fees during BFCM. The only thing I find lacking about this program is a widget/badge to let shoppers know about the program.
This is a feel-good app, but it doesn't have any way to export or display the data. I'd love to include offset tracking information on the "About Us" page or something like that!
Amazing idea and absolutely want to implement this but we need a customer facing dashboard/material to let them know how their purchase is contributing. PLEASE!
Very cool but it's only as good as what you can communicate the customer, where's the widget? Transparent marketing collateral is a must!
Kilian
This app won't install. It was on our old theme but once we upgraded and uninstalled it refuses to reinstall. There was potential but support form Shopify about why it won't install is null.
I installed the app to see if, like one reviewer says below, an icon showed up during checkout. I tested it - it didn't. Since customers have no way of knowing that you are really doing this, it is rather useless. For all they know, we could just be greenwashing. I would use this app 100% if there were something that showed up on the website that customers could actually see and understand the contribution being made. Until it does, I will be looking for something else.
Hey, there. Thank you for taking the time to leave this review and share your feedback. To clarify, the Offset App does not show an icon at checkout. If this is a feature you would like to have potentially added to the Offset App's features, I would be happy to submit this feedback to our developers for future consideration. Thank's again for taking the time to leave this review! -Marty, Shopify Support
Simple app - straight to the point and for a great cause. Echoing some of the other reviews - we would also appreciate a widget to share information with our customers.
