PayRules: Hide Payment Methods

I set up a manual payment method for regular customers, which had been repeatedly exploited by scammers. This app was recommended to me by a Shopify specialist. I have only good things to say about this app. It’s easy to set up and includes a wide range of features. I highly recommend it to everyone. We are using this service to hide specific payment options from some customers and companies. We also use it to restrict checkout for certain customers who haven't met their minimum order value. Very intuitive and easy to use. 5-minute set-up. I like it a lot.

Shopify doesn’t natively allow you to hide specific payment methods for different markets, for example, we didn’t want to offer “Cash on Delivery” to international customers. With this app, that issue is completely solved and it comes with many other powerful features as well.

After a silent update approximately 2 months ago, the Cash on Delivery payment method stopped appearing at checkout — our primary payment method. We had no idea what was causing the drop in sales until we investigated manually.

There was no email, no changelog notification, no warning that the update had changed the app's behavior. This cost us significant revenue over two months.

The app works when configured correctly, but breaking changes must be communicated to merchants immediately. This level of silence around a critical update is unacceptable for a payment rules app.

This app is exactly what we were looking for. We offer payment terms to select customers that have been approved in advance. We didn't want the payment invoice option to show for every customer as we had occasions where a customer would select this payment option that wasn't preapproved. Now we just tag the customer for payment invoice and they have the option at checkout.

We can just as easily revoke their payment invoice privileges by untagging them and they will be forced to pay at checkout.
