This app greatly simplifies the management of layaway items. It allows inventory quantities to be marked as unavailable until the customer comes in to pick up their order. Two downsides: (1) reservations are automatically deleted after a maximum of 30 days; (2) more importantly, when clicking “Convert to cart,” the process takes several long seconds, which requires us to explain the delay to the customer.

Regarding the 30-day reservation limit, this can be adjusted within the app settings with the option to extend the hold period up to 180 days - or remove the limit entirely to better suit your needs.
In regards to the delay when clicking “Convert to cart,” this transition is intentional to allow the Shopify POS system enough time to sync inventory from “unavailable” to “available.” This prevents staff from seeing “out of stock” warnings during the process. However, we understand how this affects your workflow and are looking into ways to optimise this performance.
