Unlike pre-purchase upsell, you will present your post purchase upsell after the sale has been pushed through, so there's no way you're distracting or disturbing your customers.

In addition to just upselling and cross-selling, this extension can also be used for attribution surveys, getting customer feedback, or generic announcements.

How do Post purchase upsell offers work?

  1. Your customer purchases a product
  2. They complete their checkout
  3. Magic happens here - Just before the order confirmation page, they see show them an upsell offer related to their cart
  4. If they accept the offer, the current order will be updated and the offered product will be added to it.
  5. The order becomes partially paid and the outstanding can be paid by the customer with the invoice link

How do Thank you page offers work?

  1. Your customers buy a product
  2. They complete their checkout
  3. Once the order confirms customer redirects to the order status page
  4. Here is the best part - They see a cross sell offer, customer feedback form, surveys, etc. based on their current order and eligibility
  5. If they accept the offer, Post Purchase Upsell ‑ BYG creates a new order and redirects them to the payment page.

Notes

  • Since BYG edits the ongoing order when a Post purchase upsell offer is accepted, the additional amount for the accepted offer will have to be captured separately. If you are capturing manually, then you might have to capture multiple payments for a single order.
  • For 3PL providers that automatically pick your orders from Shopify, will have to be configured as well so they wait for the upsell offer to be added to the initial order before attempting fulfilment.
  • For one click post purchase upsells, currently only Shopify's default payment gateway is supported.
