Printify: Print on Demand

Printify is TRASH if you need personalized products. Works fine for regular orders, but the personalized order system is broken and buggy. After following all the instructions (which are contradictory) the personalization only works if I place an order through my own system, not for anyone else. It automatically sends to production the "placeholder" item. And even though I followed all instructions and the Printify technical helpdesk couldn't troubleshoot the problem, Printify wouldn't reimburse for the hundreds of dollars worth of incorrectly printed items. Even if I order myself, it will work for one order and then won't work for another item order placed immediately after. I have to cancel my own orders and re-submit until it allows me to review, edit and manually submit. No matter what settings we've tried, Printify will automatically submit orders that need review/edit/manual submission. Their tech support can't fix it, and they won't reimburse for the incorrect orders their system sends to production. AVOID PRINTIFY FOR ALL PERSONALIZATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shopify is an excellent tool for starting an online business. This is not a get rich quick scheme, this is for people who intend to apply themselves and learn the system to become successful in their business. The compatibility with other apps is fluent with great customer support. I was able to create a professional looking website with multiple print on demand sites connected to it. Also, there are plenty of Youtube videos covering every aspect of your Shopify experience.

I’ve used Printify on and off over the years, and there are both positives and negatives.

Overall, the products are good quality, and the prints usually turn out well. That said, I’ve encountered a few issues where the work felt sloppy. On the bright side, the design tool is user-friendly, and the mockups look fantastic.

My biggest complaints are about the pricing and shipping. Some items, like postcards, are priced ridiculously high—I suspect it’s to make their “premium” pricing option look like a better deal. Shipping costs can also be inconsistent. For instance, shipping postcards and stickers just don't make sense, but shipping for journals seems more reasonable.

Lastly, turnaround times are longer than advertised. While they often claim 1-2 days, you should realistically expect 4-5 days, and if your order still isn't ready by end of day Friday expect it to go out next week.
It's really hard to advertise a correct processing time for customers so it's best to say 4-5 days in my opinion.

Very simple to use and integrate with Shopify. Love how easy it is to design and add the products. So far all is going great!!

The ease of digitally designing any creative vision you have into a fully recognizable and physical product, from template, to mockup, to product display, is so seamless and exciting. 20 years ago in 2004, website designers and artists alike would have loathed and sighed at the impossibility of what printing and Shopify makes possible!
