Their product is good, I have no problems with it. The thing I don't like is the retention tactics they use to keep you subscribed to their services. It takes a click to set up a plan to use Privy, but you have to reach out via email for them to cancel your account. I reached out last month to cancel my plan or look for a way to reduce the bill amount but I never got a response. Now I only want a single option, which is to cancel it altogether. At least have a phone number to call or a self service section. Live chat says they can't process cancellations which only make things less convenient.
Make sure you have a ladder ready to climb out before you jump into this hole.
Thanks for the feedback and sorry about the issues you are experiencing. Please send us an email at support@privy.com and the team will give you a hand when they are back online.
How can you ask for a review after using your app for 2 min. ? Please let me test your services before asking me for a rating every other second.. I'll give a review when ready!! Please read text
Totally understand if it’s too early to give an accurate review. As you get started, feel free to reach out to us for help at support@privy.com, check out our help docs at https://help.privy.com, or sign up for a live training at privy.com/training
asked for a review before i even had a chance to try the app
This app has many glitches and if difficult to operate. The email pop up just layers each element on top of one another instead of listing the elements one below the last.
Thanks for your feedback and sorry for any frustration you are experiencing. The elements are layered so that you can create different design effects and control exactly how your pop up looks. You can also reorder the layers by dragging and dropping them so that they look and behave the way you would like. We always recommend the form and submit button being the top two layers so that nothing is blocking that experience. If you need help, give us a shout at support@privy.com
Not sure yet - just installed it so let's wait and see after a little while of setting up using etc .
Launched a site 1 month ago - not advertised fully - slapped with 35000 impressions. The manager will not accept their system at fault, I know best attitude. Will not agree Google Webmasters data either. Beyond disbelief.
Beware! I'm charged twice for this app - emailed shopify who notified them so they could get in touch but never heard a think. Received my latest invoice and again charged twice!! I have removed the app which I also believe to be detrimental to SEO since they are the largest impact on slowing down a website and tabs that get in the way of navigation
SCAM ALERT Check your billing statements. I've used this app for years without issue. A few months ago, I had an issue where all of a sudden my photos in my pop-ups had disappeared. I reached out and they told me I deleted them (I didn't and they were the same photos I had used for about 2 years.) They couldn't figure out why it was freezing and not allowing me to add another photo where the original went missing. I accepted a "collaborator request" so they could fix it, and they did.
What I didn't realize was that since then, both of my websites have TWO recurring charges EACH for this app: $15 and $15 on one website, and $45 and $15 on another. I've been spending $90 on this app that is supposed to cost $15 for the basic plan. I don't know how I didn't notice sooner, so that's on me, but I'm surprised Shopify is allowing them to continue to scam people by adding the app multiple times.
I've used this app for around 4 years across multiple other accounts without issue, including these two websites. All this began only a few months ago. If you've added them as a "collaborator request" to fix something, run and check your billing statements.
I have 10+ years of Shopify use under my belt and have built around 12 websites. I did NOT download this app multiple times and agree to be billed multiple times a month. I have only ever used the basic version of this for a simple email pop-up: no marketing emails, nothing else they offer.

Hi there,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're here to help!
Our teams looked into this and see that we were able to assist you with the image issue. I can assure you that these support interactions did not lead to additional charges or newly created accounts.
To clarify, the Privy Starter plan is billed based on your mailable contacts. As your contact list grows, your pricing is subject to scale overtime.
Within Shopify, you will see your monthly Privy bill broken into two charges as you noted (base + usage), this would be the case for each Privy account that you have.
We appreciate your feedback here as our team is working on improving how we communicate this to customers moving forward.
I’ve personally reached out to you so we can work towards a better experience for your store, and I am happy to continue the conversation with you there.
They sent an email out saying there would be a SMALL price increase, but did not state the amount. They said you would see the increase on your next bill, of which it was doubled.
I havnt used it yet but it wants me to review it so here is my review, i will change review after i figure out how it works
