After now trying the app for a good 2 weeks I have come to really enjoy the app, at the beginning there were some challenges setting up but Tony's customer service was extremely quick and helpful, he also explained more in depth as to how the app works and why there were some limitations due to how Shopify collections are setup.
I give the app a 5 for customer service and overall 4 just because we had some hiccups during setup but everything was fixed.
We installed in 2021 and had major issues - app removed half the products from our store one day, and a few weeks later the app crashed (taking our collections with it). So we uninstalled. But the Boost team has since then set-up a second server to prevent crashes, and the missing products issue has not re-occured (although it is important to click 'Sync' on the app after re-arranging products in collections or else they disappear). The Boost team has been really responsive and taken very good care of us. Five stars for support! We love the functionality of the app - that we can decide by which tags the products are filtered. However it does make our collections 1-2 seconds slower to load. So long-term we are seeking a native-code solution - it seems crazy to take the risks of an external app just to filter products on our site. But until then this is the best solution we've found.

Such an amazing customer support. They called me immediately after leaving a review pleading for help and they resolved the problem. They were very willing and helpful too. Thank you for the solid support. The price is a bit high, but after seeing their support and how fast it was. I can't complain about the service or the app itself. It's working now thankfully. (I would have left a 5 star, but the price is a bit steep for new shops, especially if you are not earning in the start, I feel that 14$ would be more reasonable or at least offer a low cost version for small shops.)

We had switched from another app to this one, mainly to be able to select multiple items within a filter category. However, there were other limitations that made us decide to switch back.
One, in particular, was how the category scrolling worked on mobile. It puts a scroll within a scroll right down the middle, making for some awkwardness in thumbing through a collection page. Also having to manually customize filter categories is problematic where dynamic updating of new categories is needed. Customer support was responsive, though delayed, and then it disappeared when we tried to drill down further into our needs.
All that said, I do appreciate the work of app developers like this one...and in fact this still may be the filter app for you. It just wasn't for us.
We chose Boost because it did everything that we felt we need in a site search engine. We had issues with our cart after we installed this app, the ‘ajax cart’ feature was turned on by default, which conflicted with another app AND the theme cart drawer. It took us 2 weeks to figure out the issue. Sharing in case you notice issues with your cart after install.
This app is really easy to customize! We've only been using it on the website for a few weeks, and it just works like a charm.

They helped us with the support. Good app. Would recommend them. Can be customized on need basis. The got back to within time when we had a small issue.
