I wish I would've read the reviews before installing. Seriously the only reason why someone would even need to integrate Shopify with Quickbooks is to have comprehensive sell-through data, specifically COGS (since those are THE thing that affects your bottom line with sell-through and expenses...), but there's no integration here. In other words, your ledger will show you have way more equity than you actually do considering COGS isn't showing up in the ledger (or mapping for that matter).
Shopify says to reach out to Quickbooks, Quickbooks says to reach out to Shopify... I literally wasted a day today (starting around 11 and it's 6:00 PM now) trying to map COGS from Shopify into QuickBooks and it seems impossible.
Good luck!
very, very poor experience. NO SUPPORT - every support agent will just tell you to go to either shopify or quickbooks, depending on who the other party is.
on QB side, creates non-posting sales orders that don't affect inventory - so you don't get any support for COGS (and therefore profit) in your accounting system. You can't convert those SOs to invoices, and therefore they serve no purpose - and they also cannot be deleted.
all sales and refunds are aggregated into sales receipts, and because they are tied to your shopify payouts, delays the booking of revenue, sometimes by weeks.
run, don't walk away from this software...will cost you days/weeks of time to fix
Worst setup and app ever. DOesn't work and is full of bugs. It wouldn't bring in any other history besides order. Which alone is of no use.
(1) Set up your QB account first. That's FREE. (2) You can forget getting mad over Intuit. They are absolutely horrid and the only thing that will change that is a solid competitor and that will be hard to do because they buy them all. They are Like U-Haul, lol. "U-Can forget it if you want anything other than a truck" (3) Quickbooks works fine if you're willing to do some work. It's not "quick" at first. But all other accounting apps unless you go enterprise are worse.
very very difficult, been trying to connect for 10 hours. 3rd party and they don't help at all. They blame Shopify and QBO. QBO blames Shopify and Shopify blames QBO. A mess.
why does Shopify and QBO advertise tthem, no accountability, endless exhaustive repeatitve tasks and typing....
how do I set up automating an invoice in QBO when there is a sale on my Shopify.
can someone help me?
Thank you for providing the feedback, we are following up directly to understand more about the connection issue faced.
Please note, the app is developed internally by the QuickBooks (intuit) team.
After 2 months of commerce channels not connecting with the banking feature, it's finally fixed! The help agents kept telling me that developers were working on this and that it was a system-wide issue, but there was no timeline and zero updates. Most businesses sell online so not being able to capture sales from your online channels is beyond problematic. I received a feedback form and responded expressing my frustration with these unresolved issues. The next day after submitting the feedback form, I received an email from Jerry Chuang. He and I eventually hopped on a Zoom call to finally resolve these issues once and for all. Jerry was incredibly patient, solution-focused, and most of all he provided a great customer experience. Prior to Jerry, I was so frustrated with Quickbooks that I was about to change software systems, but fortunately I won't need to do that anymore. My recommendation to all is that if you have a commerce issue, select the "give us feedback" highlighted in blue in the Overview Commerce tab. It will connect you to the right people who can help. Thank you Jerry, you saved the day!
This integration is new. Issues in the beginning but I put in a tech support email and was responded to the next day by Jerry and everything is working great! Jerry is awesome and very knowledgeable. What's great about this is its a free option to make the connection from Shopify to quickbooks as opposed to paying monthly for others. They get very expensive. The errors got fixed quickly while on tech support and has been working perfectly. I also got Shopify balance working! there is a feed for Shopify balance but not available in quickbooks yet. I do hope they get the feed working in qb but what I did was get the feed through my regular banking app. I'd imagine most banks allow for this... not sure. From there you can find your normal bank through quickbooks and just select the Shopify balance feed. Its a work around but no problems at all. I did also mention to tech support that Shopify balance feed is live so they know and they are working on it. Hope this helps.
Thank you! We're glad Jerry was able to help you out and we really appreciate your honest feedback.
Shopify has sent me information that this app has not been updated for some time. It is no longer importing our store information to quickbooks online as it was once doing. My book Keeper said it was duplicating our sale and not matching up with how it is reported to our bank.
We have resolved the issue causing the app to be flagged as "unsupported".
To avoid any duplicate entries with the bank feed please ensure you add transactions from the App Transaction tab and then "Match" with the bank deposits in the bank feed. If you continue to have issues please reach out to qbcommercesupport@intuit.com and our support team will be happy to assist you further.
I've been having issues with Shopify transactions duplicating in QuickBooks and they were not able to help me resolve my issue. I've been manually making a journal entry to correct the transactions.
Thank you for the review. Please ensure you go to Transactions tab > App Transactions > For Review and add / match the transactions. Once you have added the transactions from Shopify you can "Match" them to the Bank feed to avoid any duplications.
If you continue to have issues please reach out to qbcommercesupport@intuit.com and our support team will be happy to assist you further.
