RecomSale is missing some very, very key features and some are actually harmful to your store!
- You can't delete affiliates, even if they are abusing your platform.
- You can't delete AFFILIATE COUPONS, so if they submit them to an aggregate, there is no way for you to remove the coupons.
- You can't disable Self Referrals, so anyone can sign up, use their own code, and the earn money + get a discount.
- You CAN'T turn off discount codes made by the app, so if you use this app you are open to key vulnerabilities.
What this meant for us is that a coupon aggregator created an account and published their discount on their site and we cannot remove or delete that coupon.
The only way to remove it is to remove the app, so, we found another affiliate parter that we'll work with instead. We'd consider coming back if they improved the things above.
If you use this app, you are vulnerable to coupon aggregators and there is no way to disable that. If they leak a coupon, you can never turn that off, even if you stop paying that affiliate commissions because you cannot delete affiliates, only reject them. But their coupons are still valid.
BUYER BEWARE
This is NOT an affilliate program - it is a simple referral program.
It all looks flash, but so-called affiliates only earn commission if their affilliate code is entered every time a purchase is made.
REFERRAL APP = one time rewards to get new customers
AFFILIATE APP = Recurring rewards every time an introduced buyer makes a purchase.
This is a dishonestly mislabeled referral app.
Multiple times somebody has used this app to create fraudulent click funnels to produce their own affiliate commission and Recomsale doesn't seem willing to investigate for me. Poor communication, long delays in responses, and overall negligence in preventing this type of behavior is a big concern.
I have been working for days to try to get a member of Recomsale's team to produce logs to see who turned automatic approval for affiliates on and off. They did this to allow a certain account to be approved and this cost my company money.
There is no translate feature, so I had to do this myself. And when I set up the features I found out that the system doesn't support 2 different commission/discount campaigns. You can't have a 10% commission + discount campaign for your influencers, while having a 5% commission + discount campaign for affiliates...
Also, when someone gets invited by a friend, they will receive a randomized discount code, which in default can not be combined with product discounts, and support says they can't change the default. Which is super odd for a "discount software". So you will need to manually adjust this every single time a randomized discount code will be generated for a "potential customer". I would assume that businesses will lose a lot of money, since many customers will simply just leave if the discount code doesn't seem to work.
Very nice app and positive points for keeping all of the apps sign up and reporting functions on your Shopify website. But after setting up some test accounts the app would track clicks but not purchases, which sort of defeats the point. Tried chatting with their support but they could not figure it out, they sent it to a higher level of tech but no word back from them a day later. Might be worth trying out but open several test accounts to see that it is tracking before unleashing your affiliate program on the www.
