The app itself has some points of improvement, but I got excellent help from Referral candy's Tom. He really went all the way to find solutions to our problems and made sure we were happy in the end.
Derek has been the GREATEST help setting up our referral campaign. He was willing to provide suggestions, check everything was working and jump on a video call to help me with any questions. Could not have been happier with his help. Thanks Derek!
I use this app for referrals - it is excellent to get started with your first program. It takes a little while to figure out how to edit the content but then it's really simple. Also it does integrate with Recharge but it's not 100% perfect so definitely check the functionality you need before signing up.

Installed Referral candy but didn't activate it because we were testing other apps. Realized that we were charged for 2 months when the app was not activated for use yet. Being new to shopify, we didn't realize fees start when app is installed, we simply thought it would start when we activate the app. JC was kind enough to convert the 2 paid months into credits so we can start testing referral candy. He provide some advice on how to better use RC too. thanks for the help.
