Shopify has very basic and infexible collection sorting rules so to overcome this limitation we used to use 3rd party software power to render collections and site search on our website. This was expensive and always felt needlessly complex. It also added unnessariy load time to collection pages and was just another thing that could break.

We use this app not only for daily re-sorting, whereby new and specifically tagged products are sorted to the top and sold-out and unpopular products are pushed to the bottom, but also for the intelligent tagging of products that are e.g. topsellers, trending or almost sold out in order to generate suitable product labels.
