We are having issues with duplicate barcodes constantly. This is a major issue that is time consuming to fix and costs us money to print new tags all the time after discovering duplicate barcodes. We even use the app to create all of our barcodes and it still generates duplicates on a regular basis.
Being free is the only good thing. Why would a barcode app that generates barcodes generate duplicates? That should not be possible. More disappointing though is the print quality from Shopify is terrible. We use a Dymo label printer and these barcode look awful and some wont even scan. If you print the exact same barcode through the Dymo desktop app it's flawless. What is Shopify doing to cause the barcodes to loose such quality? A fix for this would great.
The basics of this app work well but I cannot understand why there isn't a feature for me to bulk upload the labels that I want to print via CSV. It is so time consuming having to individually select each product and fill in the amount of labels that I want to print. It seems like such an easy solution - its in place for plenty of other Shopify apps
Honestly a life saver, we sell to grocery stores so I just buy my own UPCs online instead of letting the app generate their own. I just wish there was an option to print the barcodes of an entire order instead of having to go into the app every time and hand select what the order calls for, since I sell products on demand per order. I have been trying to get this feature added, please contact me, it would be game changing.
Obviously I'm grateful to have this, it's indispensable for a brick-and-mortar with 2000 products. But it has a lot of unfortunate quirks that can be inconvenient in that environment. It won't populate fields if they contain certain combinations of punctuation marks. It won't render barcodes if that field has certain placements of space characters in it. Now and then it hangs or crashes when generating new barcodes for labels, and you have to start your print workflow all over again. Conversely, if it suddenly loses all functionality, it still indicates it's working. And you can go mad trying to work around those outages, but you just have to wait for the server to go back up.
l'app improvvisamente non riesce più a creare i codici barre e continuamente indica che mancano. Ci segnala che manca un codice a barre di 1 prodotto, proviamo a crearlo, indica che è stato creato ma poi non lo visualizza nella stampa. Come può essere risolto questo problema?
I really like this product. However, one thing has been bothering me. When you select a product, it only shows the variants, not the SKU. This makes it difficult to select the SKU. Hope this can be improved.
This app will no longer create barcodes for me. I have cleared my cache, reloaded my shopify, only selected one item at a time to create barcodes, and done the selection for create barcodes for all products with out barcodes. Nothing seems to work after trying 10x and the robot has offered all these suggestions-which I have done with no avail. Additionally, the app also don't not print multiple varients on my 1x1 labels. I am trying to switch over from lightspeed for my pos system, and lightspeed was able to get all my info onto these 1x1 tags no problem.
The most basic label printing, not customizable. Can't include all the information needed on the size label we use. Other paid label printing apps are able to put everything we need on the size label we use, so it's possible.
Edited to add: yes that is what I said in my original review ->When using the app to create barcodes for items without a barcode, the system duplicates barcodes for several variants. We now have to recode and reprint. Not sure of the purpose of using a generator if we have to manually search for duplicates. It doesn’t work properly. I have had the issue with several different products.

When generating barcodes in the Retail Barcode Labels app you have several options to choose from; to create barcodes for all or specific products, to generate barcodes only for products without barcodes, or to replace existing barcodes with new ones. To avoid duplicates, we would advise making sure that you are definitely selecting the option to create barcodes only for products or variants that don't have barcodes yet.
