Their Product Reviews Widget in Horizon theme has bugs that make it overall not functional for mobile. The theme widget doesn't have the same features as the coded version in the Reviews.io dashboard. Their support sent me a collaborator request asking for basically full access to our entire Shopify Admin account, which is extremely bad. They said they might fix the CSS Flexbox bug in 5 days, which is also a very long fix time, in my experience. I liked their AI support much better than their actual human support, but can't figure out how to go back to AI support. We're overall not happy with Reviews.io and looking at different vendors now.

The app and customer support are extremely disappointing. The platform has major limitations — all reviews we collected and wanted to migrate lost their “Verified” badge, which is a huge issue for credibility and conversions.
Customer support was very unprofessional, unable to clearly explain even simple questions, and came across as rude rather than genuinely willing to help or find solutions. The experience felt frustrating from start to finish.
Unfortunately, I would not use this app again.

Regarding the migration of your reviews, we completely understand how vital that credibility is for your conversions.
Because these reviews were collected on another platform, our system must classify them as third-party reviews in our widgets.
If they were originally collected via a Google-licensed platform, the verified badge would remain.

Easily one of the the worst apps I have used in all my years on Shopify. Feels like it was built by someone who has never used a Shopify store or ran a business. In the process of transitioning to a new app now. Stay away.

One of the few applications with a Polish language version on Shopify. Great support, responds quickly and is very helpful.
EDIT: When I upgraded to a higher package, I was treated unprofessionally. Simple bug fixes take months. Also, after upgrading, I lost access to several features I had on the lower package. Think twice before you choose this company.
EDIT2: After a few more weeks of waiting for the introduction of a couple of translations that are simply wrong in Polish and reminding the support about it, the chat function for reporting problems simply disappeared :) We were abandoned. I will add another update in some time. Greetings

We paid Reviews.io for 9 months for rich snippets to appear in Google search results. The widget never produced working rich snippets. Their engineering team confirmed via email that their client-side JavaScript injection method fails when other JS is present on the page (a common condition on Shopify themes), and that a server-side metafield rendering option exists but is not their default. We fixed the issue ourselves by writing a Liquid snippet that reads from their metafields and renders the AggregateRating server-side. Reviews.io offered 2 months at 50% off in credit (~$165) against $1,485 paid, then refused any further remediation. If you're choosing a review platform for a Shopify store and care about Google rich snippets working out of the box, choose another platform.
We have been using Reviews.io for some time, but unfortunately, it's time for a change. While reviews are a crucial aspect of any small business, and negative feedback can be a powerful motivator for improvement, Reviews.io seems to prioritize the consumer's perspective at the expense of the retailer's fair representation.
We have repeatedly encountered situations where customers have posted reviews with incorrect information or outright falsehoods. When we've requested these reviews to be removed or moderated, Reviews.io has consistently refused to act, leaving us, the retailers, unfairly exposed and unable to present our side of the story. We do respond however the damage false reviews causes our small business is sometimes irreversible.
A review platform should ensure a balanced and fair approach for both consumers and businesses. Unfortunately, Reviews.io does not provide this balance, making it clear that our interests are not being protected. With numerous alternatives available at a much lower cost, we are seriously considering switching to a service that values fairness and transparency for both parties involved. Reviews can only be removed if extreme, in my opinion, criteria is met (vulgar language, spam/advertising, off-topic, and conflict of interest). There is NO option for fake reviews or false information in the review. None whatsoever.
I am aware that Reviews.io might claim to be the superior choice, but when they leave retailers hanging out to dry, such claims are irrelevant. Our account renewal is coming up in a few months, and we are actively exploring better options.

The worst thing is that if we want to export our reviews, we have to upgrade to the 90€ plan, which is insane.
Customer support doesn't answer their emails, and chat is not available.
It's one of the best review apps, but it's highly overpriced—I wouldn't switch to them if I hadn't already.
I am very disappointed. The company is advertising three plans here in the App Store, which seems competitive with other apps. But the truth is that the highest plan in Shopify is just a bait-and-switch offer. In reality, it is one of the lowest plans the company has. If you are a company that has between 300 and 500 orders, you have to switch to a higher plan, which is not available in Shopify.
The switch is also highly problematic and unprofessional. You then have to switch to credit card payment. However, the Shopify subscription is not stopped, but simply continues to be charged. I have been trying to get a refund for more than a week now. They keep putting me off and saying they can't access the Shopify plans. That's not professional...

**The most unprofessional review app we've ever encountered!**
They create a public review page for every business on their platform, allowing anyone to leave anonymous reviews—regardless of truth or accountability.
Even after we stopped using the app, people can still leave false 1-star reviews anonymously, damaging our reputation with no way to defend ourselves. I personally reached out to REVIEWS.io on November 5, 2024, politely requesting that our page be deleted since we no longer use their services. Not only did we receive NO RESPONSE, but our page remains active, and every attempt to contact them has been blatantly IGNORED.
This level of negligence and lack of accountability is completely unacceptable. Avoid this app at all costs! It’s a nightmare for any business trying to maintain its reputation. Save yourself the frustration and don't trust reviews.io!

If you want to change the platform you have to at least take the Grow subscription from reviews.io which currently costs $299
You have collected reviews for years and then have to pay for a higher
subscription before you leave just to download the file....
