For a free app it works quite well and we have integrated it into our site without hassle. I only wish that it would allow for more than 100 collection filter variants as we offer an extensive size range. Additionally it would be amazing to customise different filters per collection page.
Relies too heavily on assumed auto-recommendations -- would love to be able to remove SPECIFIC auto recommendations, leave the rest, and have the available slots auto-generate. Secondly -- need to be able to ban specific products from ever auto-generating. There are things in my store (blank envelopes etc) that are great for functional use but I never want recommended. 3 out of 5 stars because of two major functionality omissions -- add these and will gladly upgrade to 5 stars.
Please fix the 5K filter limit on collectionpages, especially for Shopify Plus users this limit should be removed and does not fit an innovative platform like Shopify.
The app isn’t working when there are 7,200 products in my collection.
AI Chat doesn't get you over to support and goes on a loop of "I'll connect you with a Support Advisor for further assistance. Please hold on while I arrange that."
Also, there doesn't seem to be support for metaobject templates in search, so the site won't index the pages using those templates. I'd like to find if there's a workaround but can't seem to get any help.
Is it possible to have the featured products also in the basket page ? Thanks a lot for your answer.
This app is good if your filter results will be relatively small. In my opinion the app has two major shortcomings, and both are only relevant if number of filter results for your store can be high.
1) Shopify limits the number of filter results to 100, which may be fine for most stores but is a major problem for mine. I have product metafields that are used to filter and these fields can have several hundred different entries but shopify will only display 100. Shopify suggests workarounds but it seems hokey to have Product Names A to F, Product Names, G to M, and so on. Just make the number 100 by default, but have the option to change it in the settings if needed.
2)Not having an option for a scroll bar in the filter results. Again, if you have a lot of options that will show up on your filter Shopify will display a certain number followed by a "show more" link. If the number of results is high, such as 90, your customers are in for a lot of scrolling.
I have tried many other platforms and most of them fall short in regard to product filtering with the exception of Ecwid. Their built in filters are really good, unfortunately the platform falls short with regard to product videos and cost.
I have conceded and am currently trying several 3rd party filters.
Customize filters are working well but we can't translate 'Product Type' values displayed on Collection page, with Shopify "Translate & Adapt" app.
Thanks for your review. I'm happy to share that the product team just launched filter translation support. More details here: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/search-and-discovery/filters#filter-translations. However, "product type" isn't yet a product field that can be translated, so you could work around that issue by using product metafield values instead
Under “Search & Discovery” app’s Recommendations tab, I have put 3 specific items in the Related Products column for each of my products (a total of 8 products), yet on the live website, the You May also like section only displays, 1 or 2 items, not all 3 items I’ve specified, and it is inconsistent in it's display tendencies. The settings within Shopify (Maximum products to show) for the “Related Products” is set to 3. Why am I seeing less than 3 items displayed on the live site?
This app sort of does what I want, but not exactly as I want, therefore, 3 stars. Please work to improve this.
