Searchanise Search & Filter

User friendly. Helpful staff. However, I wish there was a way to organize the search categories manually. That's the biggest downfall I see at this point. Also, I wish I didn't have to manually go in and put in all the synonyms for the key words. This is probably inevitable and can't be done automatically but I just don't have the time to do it well. Been using this app for a year now and it's one of the better search apps out there. Quick support, they are always adding new features, improvements, and integrations. I'm still waiting for a filter app integration not sure if they will ever be possible though. Overall I'm happy with the product.

This app is amazing and the fields which are in it for searching are also very helpful for the users to search. Support is also very helpful!
My suggestion is to add a quantity selector on the search page.

The app was installed by developers to enable filters and manage collections and it does do this well, we've only experienced one outage since installing a year ago. We're not using this app to the full extent of its capabilities and would probably benefit from a walkthrough session with the Searchanise team. Would totally recommend the Searchanise team as they are super helpful and friendly, jumping in to quickly resolve an issue that turned out to be unrelated to the app.

We have been using this app for almost two years now and it has been going well. I love the amount of customizability of the app. You can change the color of just about everything and with custom HTML and CSS we can make it look even better. Their support is great and has helped with all of the custom code we added. There are a lot of features so it does take a little bit to get the app dialed in and working the way you want it to. The only bad thing about the app is how much work it takes to make it perfect, and even after that to keep it working you should try and spend a little bit each week to keep it running well. Largely given the options (mainly this versus InstantSearch+), Searchanise is the best available search provider for Shopify.

Our main issue is that the app is still really weak/simplistic when it comes to search. For example, searching "table" on our store pulls up "table lamp" and "table clocks" as top results. Expected top results should be "dining tables" and "coffee tables". Trying to play with synonyms did not work, since it only applies to exact search strings.

In fact, InstantSearch+ seems to be slightly more intelligent since they're able to provide the proper results (emphasis on "slightly" since they failed some basic search tests elsewhere). However, the cost of Searchanise is far superior and they also have some core features that InstantSearch+ does not. InstantSearch+ seems to have had a head start and coasted at this point - and it shows. InstantSearch+'s overall dashboard and "feel" is outdated compared to Searchanise, which we hope will continue to improve.

Another point is customer service - the Searchanise team was very responsive and supportive of the few emails I sent. InstantSearch+'s service felt rather dismissive (a lot of one liners and ignoring some technical questions altogether).

Overall, both apps fall short of what's expected from a power search app. Searchanise wins on affordability, customer support, and a weak competitive field. We'd pay more if the search was more accurate, but, given current lack of core search accuracy, the app still falls short of its main purpose. For a great search example, a competitor like Wayfair's search bar perfectly reflects user intent within the furniture/decor industry (but who knows how many times more they've invested into their technology).

We use this app the manage and make searches easier and clear results. Any issues we've experienced have been resolved promptly by their support team.

The app support we've experienced so far from the team has been excellent, especially Ksenya who has been really supportinve. They have been very helpful and very quick and responsive to queries.
I would receommend them and their app to any business looking for smart filtering and bespoke functionality.

UPDATE : The team has solved the problem for our store. Thanks a lot ! The app works great for filtering and search. But since we installed it we have SEO issues. The main problem is that the app prevents us from adding h2 titles tag to our products names on our collection pages.
Also, the app prevents us fron adding alt tags to our images.
