SEOLab — SEO Tutto‑in‑Uno

This has been the single most horrible app experience I’ve had in my 8 years on Shopify. Particularly the utter lack of support in the aftermath of a disastrous bug caused by SEOLab. I highly caution anyone considering using this app to read further before putting it to use on their store. Here is what happened.

Before running its bulk meta tag update, I clicked the Create Backup button. I then ran the update with the "Overwrite" option unchecked — expecting it to SKIP products that already had meta tags. Instead, it overwrote most of my product meta titles and descriptions across more than 1,300 products - which were ALREADY OPTIMIZED. Now those titles are 80-90 words, and the descriptions are more than 1000 words - the app having scraped them from ordinary page descriptions.

Optimization, seriously?

Over the next few days, I made every attempt to seek help in reversing these changes from their support. Chat, email - zero response. Then I scheduled a phone session. Frank was the support person who met with me. He seemed very helpful, saying that he would escalate the issue for priority to the developers and they would be responding within a day. Two, max.

That was about four days ago - nothing. Meanwhile, my products are on the internet in much worse shape than before “optimization” with no hope in sight. I have gone page by page hitting “reverse data” and rewriting but there are like 1300 pages. I am a one person company. This is beyond unacceptable.

Another bug I discovered. When I edited product or collection descriptions using their app (not inside Shopify’s editor but inside their app’s editor), and then hit “Save,” it removes all the links in the description. I only discovered this after doing quite a few. More work for me, adding to the overwhelming amount of pain this app has caused and complete lack of support. If I could give it less than 1 star I would.

Amazing App & Outstanding Support!

I’ve had a great experience with SEO Labs, especially working with Frank. He was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to help me understand my store’s SEO and performance issues. Having someone who genuinely takes the time to help makes a huge difference when you’re running a small business.

SEO Labs makes it much easier to monitor my Shopify store’s SEO, identify areas that need improvement, and understand what I can do to strengthen my website and search visibility.
