I used to love this app but as of November 2024, things changed. The app provider blames Shopify but beware... The customer's IP address is used to find a 'close' postal code (Canada) to produce a shipping rate in the cart. When the customer proceeds to the checkout, the 'close' postal code and province are auto-filled in the shipping address form. We found that many customers don't review their postal code and leave the incorrect 'close' postal code. This has led to several misdirected parcels and returned parcels for us. We are now manually checking each and every shipment's postal code, something that we have never done before and shouldn't have to. Five different Code Blackbelt representatives have looked at my support request and have said they can't prevent the auto-filling of the postal code in the checkout, its a Shopify issue. It took a while to figure out where these wrong postal codes were coming from, I'm removing the app with the hopes of re-installing this app someday after the issue is resolved.
January 2025, I requested that they allow the store owner to turn off the geographic locating. They said they didn't do custom app programming. I was more than thrilled to find another app that has this feature and more.

We completely understand your sentiments/situation and as mentioned during your email conversation with the team - our app completely relies on Shopify Ajax API and the new behavior stems from how the Shopify checkout page and AJAX API operate which is somewhat independent from our app’s functionality.
As for the Geolocation Feature, it is a built-in feature that we do not have the option to disable with the current version of our app.
Should the situation change and we find a workaround for this behavior or your requested feature has been implemented, we will be happy to reach out and let you know.

Our app gets the shipping rates information from Shopify and the Shopify Platform only provides them associated to an existing shopping cart.
There is nothing we can do to show shipping rates on the product page because the Shopify API does not have that option. Please understand that we cannot show information that Shopify does not provide.

As you can see, there is no way to pass a product as a parameter, it always uses the contents of the shopping cart.
