Poor integration with Shopify. If an order in Shopify is updated (say shipping address) that change will not be updated in Shippo.
Also, there is no way to customize the packing slip. We would like to remove the pricing, but this is not possible.
For packaging, there is no ability to have a hierarchy so that the packages we use most are at the top of the select list.
This may be the case with all Shopify shipping apps. I guess it's time to find out.
Hi Amy,
Thank you for leaving your honest feedback about Shippo and Shopify. We're sorry you haven't been satisfied with how the 2 systems work.
Updating changes in Shippo that are made in Shopify is something we are working on. While we always want to add all the features our customers prefer these do take time to build and test. However, we understand this one is critical so we are working on adding this functionality to our system.
We are also looking into adding a "gift" feature on packing slips that will allow you to remove the pricing.
Regarding packaging, if you use certain templates more often than others, you can set them as your personal package templates on your labels page in Shippo (click settings > labels).
Templates are ordered in the way they are created, so, if you'd like the most used template to show in the list first, you will want to make that one last.
If you have any further questions you can always reach out support team by chat/phones beginning at 9 AM PST M-F, and email from 6 AM - 6 PM PST.
Thank you again for your feedback on Shippo!

Shippo is wonderful. I had sent thousands of packages with them when my store was hosted by Wix, and when I switched to Shopify I decided to stick with them. Even though Shopify has built-in label services, I find Shippo much easier to use (and also more aesthetically appealing, which is something that's important to me). Additionally, I just reached out to them to see if they could change something that has recently changed on my Shippo homepage; within the day, they had changed back the setting to how it was previously configured and made my life 1000x easier. Very sweet team, and I'm happy to be a customer of theirs. 10/10 recommend.
Shippo is very user friendly, and makes our lives SO much easier! Highly recommend this shipping app for any retail store. We also love that it allows us to print our customer's postage labels as well as packing slips for packages in one place.
The bugs are aplenty. The ship date for orders gets stuck on a previous date (random date is chosen) when going to print labels. You have to manually change it each time. When you create an order, it disappears. You have to go back in to the order page, find the order, and then print the label. Annoying extra steps that shouldn't be there when paying a premium for the app. They refuse to fix any of these issues. I have switched to another shipping app.
Hello,
Thank you for providing this feedback about Shippo. We apologize for the experience you've had and we are working to look into these issues from our side.
We have escalated your information to our engineering teams and we will follow-up with you once they've found a resolution.
Thank you,
Shippo Support
BEWARE! I used this app to find great shipping rates on a per-use basis, so I didn't have to commit to paying a set monthly rate. Well, they got hacked recently and (while I was sleeping) my PayPal was charged over $1400 in fraudulent fees. When I checked my Shippo account, there were 15 pages of fake shipping charges and addresses at a rate of $7 each in less than 24 hours. I shudder to think how much damage could have been done had I not gotten up so early today and didn't have my banking set to notify me of unusual activity. By the time Shippo closed my account (per my request), there were over $2K in charges. I strongly suggest NOT doing business with this company until they can demonstrate that they've resolved this issue. The rates are great, but having your wallet drained while you're sleeping is the stuff of nightmares. When I went on Twitter I saw that I'm not the only person who had this problem. So, they really shouldn't be offered to Shopify sellers as a viable app until they can prove they have this HUGE problem under control.
Update: It seems this is a problem Shippo has that it can't or won't fix. WHY ARE THEY STILL IN THE SHOPIFY APP STORE IF THEY'RE STEALING FROM SELLERS????
Thank you for your honest feedback. We understand your frustrations and are sorry this happened to you. We take fraud very seriously at Shippo.
We do want to reiterate that Shippo was not hacked. As stated in your support ticket with us, our security team looked into this and it appears your information was compromised on another site and used to login to Shippo. There was no breach in our system.
We have refunded you for all of the fraudulent labels, deactivated your Shippo account, and removed your billing information on file.
We understand there is always room for improvement, so we are discussing this situation with our security team so that we can better protect our customers.
I would also give this ZERO stars if I could. They provide the worst customer support. Even if you write in, they will not answer.
Glad we were able to connect over the phone! Apologies again for the delayed response - we are working on hiring more advocates to make sure we can work with all of our customers in a timely manner. We have also opened up chat in our help center, catch us there if you've got any more questions!
Just amazing support and easy to use multichannel solution with CN22 support etc. A must for any real company!
Well I just got to use the Shippo today and had a little learning curve - however it is so very simple actually. Once I got on to how it works - I breezed right through it without a stumble. When I emailed for help, I got a really prompt answer from a nice gal who gave me all the information I needed. What a great help she was, too. Even after listening to the video and reading the instructions, I wasn't quite sure I was doing this right and found out I wasn't - but she very quickly led me down the right path. This program is so neat - not only does it give you a label - nice big one with tracking number - but it also can give you an order page for receipt plus a second label for your customer - preaddressed and postage for returning their order should they have to. All with just a couple of clicks on the buttons. You can also choose to have Shopify send them a shipping email with the customer's tracking number on it and everything else they should need. It's free and all you have to do is pay postage which was very reasonable. You won't be disappointed.
We've been using Shippo for a little over two months. It works outstanding for USPS domestic shipments. Reviewing rates, paying for label, downloading label, printing label seemed too many steps at the beginning but now it has become part of our work flow; and it works well.
We do like to recognize the service support and technical team. They are truly customer focused and took immediate action when we had issues to sync orders between Shopify and Shippo, and with downloading the correct sender address. Well done! Thank you...
Long time customer of Shippo on two different accounts. The app provide great rates for shipping labels and the integration process is pretty straight forward.
When it comes to accounting, there are a few things that break it for Shippo:
1. If you have any canceled labels, these will not be refunded back to you. Instead these act as roll over credit for future orders. We found this problematic when we were shipping logistic out of Shippo. Even if you do decide to close your account / switch service completely, any amount of labels that were refunded as credit in Shippo remains. If you're doing volume, this could mean hundreds of labels and credit stalled into one account as non-transferable credit.
2. USPS vs UPS vs Fedex vs DHL. If you have multiple carrier accounts, you may be billed outside of Shippo form UPS or DHL even if the charges show up in Shippo. It is not clear when these happen and it's up to you to distinguish which records in Shippo are actually charged outside of Shippo and which are within Shippo - quite the headache to backtrack through many orders. And do if you're not careful this can create issues with your carrier accounts for unpaid invoices. Very confusing -- a UI issue that can be addressed easily within Shippo IF they chose to implement it.
