We've been using ShipTection shipping insurance for our small business, and we couldn't be happier with the service. The claims process has been straightforward, customer support has been responsive, and it provides both us and our customers with peace of mind when packages are lost, stolen, or damaged in transit.
Having ShipTection available at checkout has been a great addition to our business, and we've had a positive experience whenever we've needed assistance. We appreciate how easy they make the process and have no complaints at all.
We highly recommend ShipTection to other businesses looking for reliable shipping protection! – Kaotic Kreations LLC
I first want to address the negative review I see right below mine-, and it's talking about the 98 cent orders. I had that exact same thing happen months ago, before even hearing about ShipTection, much less having it installed. That has nothing to do with ShipTection, although it is a major, super annoying problem. We ended up having our CC processing shut down for three days, had to switch merchant providers, and it was an all-around very expensive, several thousand dollars nightmare- but I want to reiterate that has nothing to do with ShipTection and could happen with any shipping insurance or site with low priced items. What we've done to solve that problem, or at least hopefully prevented, is set a minimum cart value @ $20 at the merchant credit card processing level. That stopped all those 98 cent orders from happening, as it declines the transaction before the card is even attempted to be run. I feel like this is something Shopify should get ahead of.
Now on to my review.
We've been using ShipTection for the past three weeks, so I can't comment fully on the entire cycle; however, my experience thus far has been superior to the other shipping insurance company that starts with R and ends in out.
We received a cold email, and I had been looking at my billing statements recently from Route and had been quite disappointed with their increases in fees as well as decreases in payouts. Lastly, just a lot of friction with the whole claims process.
Again, only using it for three weeks, but ShipTection seems to be better across every single front. There are longer shipping windows, there are more options to adjust, refine, customize and, of course, sharing the revenue is a big plus. It's also nice being able to quickly get a hold of Will or Isaac with any issues. Throughout this entire process, they've been waiting on me more than I've waited on them for nearly anything. They had us up and running in a matter of minutes after getting everything signed and completed.
Sadly have come back to change my review to 1 star. Shiptection put on a very false front making you think they actually offer what they are advertising but after using them for a prolonged period we have found they are just another typical insurer who only has their interest at heart, not the customers. We have had constant glitches with the app when it was turned on to automatic, which heavily impacted our conversion rate. We chose to remove it from the site and move to manual adding, this is when everything came unstuck. At the point we weren’t insuring every order the claim rejection began, then they sneakily tried to turn our insurance on the auto add which meant we were paying insurance on all orders without consenting to it. When I addressed this our manual function stopped working, so we emailed asking them to add the insurance for us. Without explanation they contacted us telling we are no longer insurable - we have had extremely minimal claims and the last few were all rejected. Apparently if they can’t take advantage of you and force you to pay insurance on every order, whether it’s needed or not, it’s not beneficial to insure you. Your options are - have insurance on your website and have a glitchy site that affects conversion, or ask for manual B2B insurance and be rejected for your claims because you aren’t paying them enough. 100% steer clear!
We were disappointed to see you changed your 5-star review, as it seems to have been done in response to our decision not to continue working with you.
When we notified the merchant, we told them we would honor all policies while providing refunds for all recent transactions. We spent significant resources internally to try to make ShipTection work for the merchant and were hoping to part ways on good terms.
App Performance on Site: Our team reviewed ShipTection’s functionality on their site but other 3rd party apps continued to interfere with our app. We agreed that removing ShipTection from the cart was the best idea until we had a different solution.
B2B ShipTection: Regarding B2B ShipTection malfunctioning, we have hundreds of sites using it and no one else has reported an issue. We checked logs for errors and never saw any app performance issues. We also never changed any settings without the merchants consent.
