Not one sale was made from this app and I used it for 2 straight months. I even offered an incentive (free shipping over a specified amount which is my average order amount anyway). All my sales came through ads I created on my own. There are times when I would see the ads created from this app on facebook and they would show me random products that I know I wasn't even looking at. I contacted support about it and was told to offer a discount(something I was already doing). Claimed the ads did show the customer what they were viewing and they gave me a link to a blog article to read. They didn't really seem to be interested in offering help. Basically "give it a discount, your observation is wrong, and read this article..."

I was taken back by that response. Overall, I'd rather make my own retarget ads than to waste money on this app. I seem to get better results when I do it myself rather than waste money on no results and a uninterested support team.

ETA. After leaving the above initial review the app developer, David reached out to me to offer more personalized help. He even refunded me my ad spend for the last 2 months. He was much more helpful and said he would take my feedback into consideration in order to improve their customer support. I was very pleased with the assistance I received from him. I only wish I could've gotten that personalized assistance prior. I will say that David is very helpful and responsive to customer concerns which is why I decided to change my initial rating.

Impossible to have an answer from support. Yesterday someone contacts me to solve my issue after a few hours but mainly to asked me to remove the bad comment. He apologizes that are having to much traffic and are saturated and today again, no answer. I can't work like this. I'll remove this comment when my app is fully working and support keep answering on time.

I spoke with David Berglas, one of the founders of Shoelace, over the phone tonight. He heard me out and apologized for the poor experience. He's a great guy and I believe I offered some solid feedback for how they can improve the app.

I am a unique user and had a bad experience, but many of their users are seeing great results.

He admitted they need to improve the statistics on their backend as far as reporting as well as monitor the ad-spend more closely to determine whether ads are converting or not. He also mentioned they were advertising for the products we had that were sold out, which they will fix and improve in the future.

I'm hoping all issues get fixed because this would be a great app for a majority of shopify owners when 100% complete! I look forward to updating my rating to a higher rating when I test again in the next few months.

I'm changing my rating from 1-startLet me preface this by saying I'm a serial entrepreneur and I specialize in marketing. I've also used other retargeting software like Perfect Audience, Adroll, and FB retargeting ads.

Shoelace markets as being "retargeting on autopilot". This is 100% true, except for the fact that the "auto" in autopilot is likely drunk, has a low IQ, and poor communication skills. I viewed the ads they created on my behalf through a secondary FB account, and they weren't very convincing from a buyers perspective. They were plain, simple, and didn't set the product out from any of the rest of the advertisements.

There is also LITTLE to NO CONTROL over the ad software, so you don't get to choose when your ads are showing or who they are showing to for how long.

This software also attributes any sale that happens after someone clicks one of their ads to their software ... this is poor statistics because just because they clicked on the ad, doesn't mean that convinced them to buy. It could be they were already planning to buy, and saw the ad as an easy link back to your site. This causes Shoelace to boast that it is having a bigger impact than it really is.

Lastly, Shoelace didn't work for the first 15 days I had it installed. I had to email customer support several times for things to start working. They also have statistics on the backend that do not properly track or report costs so there is no way to see why your ads are costing so much. We had 405 visits to our website as a result of their ads and that cost us $260 ... which is 64 cents per click, a lot compared to other platforms.

Tested this system for a month with their retargeting managed service. Their initial proposal for ad creative was essentially cookie-cutter with almost no brand personalization. We had a negative ROI throughout the entire test. Their activation team tried to make some adjustments, but there really wasn't much of shift in strategy or urgency in making things head in a positive direction.
Our self-managed ads perform wonderfully so it's pretty shocking that Shoelace couldn't even hit a 1x ROAS.
The team was pretty responsive which was nice, but they didn't seem to have a legitimate concern about getting things in the right path. Had high hopes, but would not recommend.

We understand that you were on our Starter plan, which does have some limits around the number of ads, audiences, and placement customizations we can use. On the creative front, it’s meant to be a collaborative process between both the client and us, so it can take some time to get the branding right (which is again, why we love feedback!).

Our team was committed to your success, but was not able to provide the results needed within the month that you were with us, and for that, we apologize. It appears our optimizations were slow because each change needed approval and a period of time to run and learn. Our story telling approach to retargeting was able to re-engage with your past website visitors, but unfortunately did not drive the number of purchases you hoped to see.

We are happy to hear that you had a positive experience in terms of communication with the team and hope that later down the line, you can give us another shot and we can help you achieve a better outcome!

Downloaded it 3 weeks ago. Can't get it to work.
Saying to enter my credit card details so I click the button and it directs me to a page where it says my credit card is valid and everything is set up.
Ive lost hundreds of dollars, maybe thousands. Wrote to support and still haven't heard anything back from them. Going to download retargetApp again as that was very easy to use and the support was always quick

Sadly during using Shoelace my ad account was suspended via facebook. This was most likely an issue caused by our ad copy which we submitted and I do feel Shoelace should have picked this up, however, they have been incredibly helpful in trying to assist us getting the account unblocked. The customer service is brilliant.

I wish I had consider the negative reviews to not even bother myself installing this app, I just need my money back. No one helped with anything and the ad was never running, in fact, you are all alone with no help

Our team noticed that you reached out for support regarding the performance of your campaigns shortly after they launched, and your concerns were addressed by one of our support team members. Our Automation plan, which you were previously on, is a self-managed tool with support from our customer service team on a ticketed basis. It includes a Retargeting journey created by the team for the customer to alter and manage. After this point, our team is there to provide advice; however, the ad management is maintained by the client.

My 14 day free trial started today after I authorised an ad. Which Shoelace promptly emailed me saying my free trial will also end today. No one I can get hold of on customer support, email facebook. So I'm leaving this review in the hopes I get a response to extend my free trial to actually test the app.
