Shoelace is the real deal! If retargeting isn't your strong suit, or you just don't have the time to spend on it, you need Shoelace. I've tried other retargeting services, and nothing else even comes close. In my first week, I brought back several visitors and made four sales on a retargeting budget of $2.50/day. With my average sale being about $45, I saw a ROAS of....a lot. I suppose it was around 800%. Just be certain to drive steady traffic, otherwise even with a low budget, the frequency score on your ads will go way up and you'll probably start irritating your customers. That's not the fault of Shoelace, but it's definitely worth mentioning for anyone interested in getting started with it.

Of all the apps I've used, Shoelace has the most helpful and responsive support staff of them all. I had the pleasure of a few quick back and forths with Sanja, and she's the best. She always got back to me really quickly, I want to say she took about an hour between responses, which is almost entirely unheard of in the realm of customer support for ecommerce plugins/apps. I think that it's also worth mentioning that she even got back to me almost immediately when I sent a support email around 11pm EST. Her personality really shines through in her support emails, and she effortlessly makes you feel well taken care of. Awesome staff combined with such a great service is a definite recipe for success. I'm excited to see Shoelace grow. If you're considering it, definitely give it a shot. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose.

I spoke with David Berglas, one of the founders of Shoelace, over the phone tonight. He heard me out and apologized for the poor experience. He's a great guy and I believe I offered some solid feedback for how they can improve the app.

I am a unique user and had a bad experience, but many of their users are seeing great results.

He admitted they need to improve the statistics on their backend as far as reporting as well as monitor the ad-spend more closely to determine whether ads are converting or not. He also mentioned they were advertising for the products we had that were sold out, which they will fix and improve in the future.

I'm hoping all issues get fixed because this would be a great app for a majority of shopify owners when 100% complete! I look forward to updating my rating to a higher rating when I test again in the next few months.

I'm changing my rating from 1-startLet me preface this by saying I'm a serial entrepreneur and I specialize in marketing. I've also used other retargeting software like Perfect Audience, Adroll, and FB retargeting ads.

Shoelace markets as being "retargeting on autopilot". This is 100% true, except for the fact that the "auto" in autopilot is likely drunk, has a low IQ, and poor communication skills. I viewed the ads they created on my behalf through a secondary FB account, and they weren't very convincing from a buyers perspective. They were plain, simple, and didn't set the product out from any of the rest of the advertisements.

There is also LITTLE to NO CONTROL over the ad software, so you don't get to choose when your ads are showing or who they are showing to for how long.

This software also attributes any sale that happens after someone clicks one of their ads to their software ... this is poor statistics because just because they clicked on the ad, doesn't mean that convinced them to buy. It could be they were already planning to buy, and saw the ad as an easy link back to your site. This causes Shoelace to boast that it is having a bigger impact than it really is.

Lastly, Shoelace didn't work for the first 15 days I had it installed. I had to email customer support several times for things to start working. They also have statistics on the backend that do not properly track or report costs so there is no way to see why your ads are costing so much. We had 405 visits to our website as a result of their ads and that cost us $260 ... which is 64 cents per click, a lot compared to other platforms.

Unless you are already an expert at Facebook marketing, you need to use this. Like others, I wasted a l lot of money trying to figure it out on my own. Trust me, Shoelace is more effective and cheaper than doing it yourself or hiring someone else. Not only do I have a great ROI in my first 30 days, but I have customers coming back to the site and buying that I would have lost in the past.

Tested this system for a month with their retargeting managed service. Their initial proposal for ad creative was essentially cookie-cutter with almost no brand personalization. We had a negative ROI throughout the entire test. Their activation team tried to make some adjustments, but there really wasn't much of shift in strategy or urgency in making things head in a positive direction.
Our self-managed ads perform wonderfully so it's pretty shocking that Shoelace couldn't even hit a 1x ROAS.
The team was pretty responsive which was nice, but they didn't seem to have a legitimate concern about getting things in the right path. Had high hopes, but would not recommend.

We understand that you were on our Starter plan, which does have some limits around the number of ads, audiences, and placement customizations we can use. On the creative front, it’s meant to be a collaborative process between both the client and us, so it can take some time to get the branding right (which is again, why we love feedback!).

Our team was committed to your success, but was not able to provide the results needed within the month that you were with us, and for that, we apologize. It appears our optimizations were slow because each change needed approval and a period of time to run and learn. Our story telling approach to retargeting was able to re-engage with your past website visitors, but unfortunately did not drive the number of purchases you hoped to see.

very fast support, and people there they know their stuff they were very helpfull even though we had some bugs, totally recomend if you want easy retargeting
