This bundle app has high potential, but it's missing A LOT of necessary features. One of the biggest issues is the bundle price is "static" and based on the price of the items IN the bundle AT the time the bundle is built. The price is not dynamic which means you could very easily be over or under priced based on if an item in the bundle has gone on sale. The bundle price SHOULD update when an item in the bundle has been updated. Also, we need an easier way to filter and sort Bundles. There's no way to even search Bundles in the Bundle app and when you have 50+ bundles like we do, it's a pain to have to go page by page to get to your newest bundle. Would also be hugely beneficial to be able to export the bundle with line items so you can much more easily see what's in the bundle itself. I want to love this app but right now it's more of a headache than it is helpful.
The app is easy to use, it's really frustrating that you can't share bundles on other sales channels though. Also your order confirmation and thank you emails all include the items (and their prices) individually, rather than as a bundle.
The products you create with the bundle will not fall out of your inventory. Is this a joke? You use the world's biggest e-commerce software. And the bundle application does not work properly.
Even the most ridiculous ecommerce software doesn't have a bundle inventory problem. I can't understand Shopify's negligence here.
Having built my infrastructure on Shopify from the beginning, I will continue to use it for a while. But if this nonsense continues, I will definitely delete it.
Imagine a company that directs you to paid applications for every broken infrastructure problem. Its name is Shopify.
App does not allow to sell on channels other than 'Online Store' or 'Shop'.
It is not possible to sell products created via bundles on channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Google or YouTube, which despite being a use case for most users, is not explicitly listed unless you search this matter on Shopify Forums.
Even then, the case appears to have been raised to support numerous times well over a year ago with no action taken.
Unfortunately, lack of support for official shopify apps seems to be a common theme. The matter listed above makes this app redundant for our store, otherwise it would be fantastic.
I have been using this app for about 4 months and only recently was there a sudden glitch. I use the app to bundle single items together as an option for a pair as I track the item's single inventory.
At an unknown time, the bundled items were showing "sold out" when the single items quantity was positive.
Over a 48 hour period and with 2 different chat support members, I was able to resolve the issue by manually changing the quantity on the affected bundled items, refreshing, then changing the quantity back to the accurate number. These were the steps given to me through the app development team to resolve the issue.
The first chat support advisor came back to me via email with a solution that wasn't applicable to the problem, so didn't fully understand or thoroughly examine. The second chat support advisor expressed that "because it is a free app" it isn't as stable as paid apps.
I was then explained the difference between paying for the platform vs paying for an app.
I installed this app on the recommendation of yet another Shopify support member several months ago and because it is developed by Shopify, it would be the best option for my needs.
I would like to have more clarity on when these issue might arise - when specifically it happened in my case so I can investigate further and if it is in fact an unstable app not suitable to use at this time. I am writing this review so others can examine before installing and spending the valuable time to set it up.
This is a good example of a feature that is 90% on the way to being perfect, but the 10% of functionality that is lacking causes the feature to be unusable. Most themes don't seem to support bundles at all, which leads to sub-optimal experiences like the bundled product pages not being able to show any details of the individual products that make up the bundle! Liquid code doesn't seem to have access to product.bundle_components and theme developers say they won't update their themes to support bundles as it's an external app feature and not a native shopify feature.
Thank you for your review. I've reached out via email to request more information so that we can provide support with your issue.
Kind Regards,

In general if offers some nice basic features. Very straight forward bundles can be created smoothly and it's overall very clear for the customer what he gets when buying the bundle.
For me there are soooo many features missing:
- Dynamic Pricing (Sum up the costs of the individual items of the bundle) and option to add an discount in Currency or % (both please)
- Dynamic Bundles/Mix & Match Bundles (Static bundles are fine but what if I wanna offer buy 2 items in category xy to get 10% discount, buy or more to get 15% discount)
- When I create a bundle of Product 1 (with color option A & B) and Product 2 (color A&B) why is there a drop down to choose the color instead of the swatches of the individual products? Just like how it's set up on the individual product.
So this app is like a start of something with potential. Quiet okay for that and the features it contains work. However, it's definitely not a full alternative to other bundle apps and it needs a lot more features.
Hi, thanks so much for your feedback on the Shopify Bundles app! Our team is currently working on development of some features mentioned, so stay tuned.
We are always evaluating new feature requests for our roadmap and will certainly consider the other requests for the future.
It works, but has less flexibility than the same feature in 40-year-old POS systems. Hoping for more options and features in the future. Would love to see:
- a toggle for whether or not to reveal the parts of a bundle to the customer
- support for more sales channels
- auto calculation for cost and weight based on bundle components
- support for add-on products
The Bundler app has revolutionised my raw dog food business! In the past, managing inventory for mix boxes was a major headache. For example, if I had 32 beef minces in stock but 10 mix boxes each containing 3 beef, I'd only have 2 individual minces available for customers wanting to buy single blocks. This also meant I was severely limiting sales of my mix boxes due to underestimating how many I could actually make with my stock levels.
The Bundler app solved this problem by accurately accounting for products used in mix boxes. Now, the app automatically calculates and displays the maximum number of mix boxes available based on my current stock levels, boosting potential sales significantly. If I have enough to make 20 boxes, it will accurately show 20 in stock rather than the 3 or 4 I used to manually list, preventing customers from assuming low stock levels when they could easily build their own mix box from our ample individual ingredient stock.
Additionally, the app effortlessly handles different variations within each box, something I used to track manually. Now, when someone buys a mix box, the app automatically updates individual product levels, making packing a breeze for other people, not just me. This app has been a lifesaver, streamlining my stock management and allowing me to offer more flexible options to my customers while boosting sales and efficiency.
