It is quite nice in many ways. But it has a long list of limitations and reasons why it can't be used - such as incompatibility with subscription products.
Looks like it has promise but has some bugs which made it unusable in our case.
Issue: We have 22 variants on our products. We added 2 products to a bundle which made a total of 44 variants. The app mis-counted it as 500 variants. The variant limit is 100, so we couldn't proceed with the listing.
It's frustrating that the app keeps displaying my bundles as out of stock when they're clearly not. It seems to be a recurring glitch, and the workaround only offers a temporary fix, requiring about 20 minutes of manual adjustment each time. Constantly monitoring and fixing this issue is eating into valuable time and potentially costing me sales. Unless this glitch is resolved soon, I'll have no choice but to switch to a different app. It's imperative to address this promptly as it's directly impacting my business's revenue and customer experience.
Very Limited on types of bundles
Hi, thanks for your feedback. We continue to work hard on updating our app's features and capabilities, and we will pass this feedback along to our team.
Bundles app is not yet available on all sales channels, such as Facebook and Instagram, which means you can't tag bundled products on social. So pretty useless, really. I'm sorry to say.
Preise aktualisieren sich nicht, wenn einzelnes Produkt teurer wird
There have been updates since my initial review! The app now does integrate with draft orders. The limit of products has been increased too.
Cons
1. Cannot specify different quantities for more than 3 products within a bundle.
2. Within the app admin, there aren't links through to the individual product's page, so you have to manually check details. Nor does it show the stock of the products which is relevant to whether you want to put it in a bundle!
3. When a bundle is added to a draft order, products aren't shown in-line in the same way normal product adds are, meaning no manual modification of quantities within the bundle.
4. When using a variety of quantity options, you have to add the bundle prices yourself despite the fact that Shopify has the individual unit prices so could automatically calculate it. Given that they allow up to 100 such variations, it would be very time-consuming to recalculate these myself.
Overall, still a clunky app. Hopefully these modifications are already on the product roadmap. Greater transparency on that would be helpful.
Would also be cool to add an option to transform a given Collection into a Bundle.
Pros
1. Integrates directly with the 'Products' section of the Shopify admin, allowing plenty of space to provide details.
2. Apparently the stock also integrates directly with the inventory tracking within the Shopify admin.
3. Integrates with draft order functionality (as of summer 2024).
Hi! Thanks for your feedback. You can now add up to 30 products to a bundle: https://changelog.shopify.com/posts/support-for-up-to-30-products-in-a-bundle
Regarding your other feedback, we are always evaluating new feature requests for our roadmap and will certainly consider these for the future.
Excited to see this expand and evolve, but we can't use it as it stands now. We're revisiting this app in the future and hopefully some of the cons here will have been worked out.
Pros:
1- Auto price calculation and updating.
2- Might provide more accurate stock or less discrepancies ( which happen already very rarely with the other bundles app we use).
3- You can see that the line items are bundles in Shopify. You can't see this in the other app we use.
Cons:
1- Can't show in any sale channel except online store, no POS and no IG social media. So it's affecting instagram marketing.
2- The line item "type" takes the "type" from components and doesn't have its own. This causes issues with our email flows so people don't receive an associated email we have set up. Changing the product type or tags on the components would affect all of our other collections conditions.
3- Stock tracking and adjustment history and committed orders don't show on the kit line item which makes stock investigations a bit more complex.
4- App feel like a work in progress features-wise
5- Bulk edit doesn't work on some of the features so we have to use another app for edits like the weight.
6- Can't be used on a pre-existing line item which means we would have to re-do ALL existing bundles. The investment of this work is high.
7- Printed invoices don't reflect that the customer has bought a bundle so it makes pulling and organizing orders harder (especially if it's a launch with bundles from different pulling locations in addition to non-bundled items).
The app has potential to be a great app. But it's still very limited and buggy.
Cons:
- you cant bulk edit the variants of the bundle(price, compared-price, sku, etc)
- if you remove or add a product to the bundle the price is recalculated
- you can't associate the bundle to a different shipping rate because it's not a product itself
Pros:
- It's easy to create a bundle
- so far it manages well the inventory
As I said, it has a big potential to be a great app. But it need lots of developments.
Thanks for your feedback.
We recently updated the app so that the bundle price doesn't recalculate if you add or remove a product when you save the bundle.
We continue to work hard on updating our app's features and capabilities, and we will pass this feedback along to our team.
Waited years for this, only to be disappointed by the lack features. The bundles not being available on outside sales channels renders it useless for us. Not pulling in individual variant costs is a pain, but I think there’s a workaround.
I’ll circle back once it’s available on all sales channels.
Hi, thanks so much for your feedback on the Shopify Bundles app! Our team is currently working on enabling bundles to be sold in additional sales channels, so stay tuned.
