So happy to move from Mailchimp.
This has a lot of the features we want and we have peace of mind that Shopify is behind this, with its great support. We got excellent and speedy help from Shopify support about migrating our customer data and the tags that we created in Mailchimp. Everything went very smoothly.
The amount of emails we send also means we are still in the free bracket, which is great, as it was starting to cost us a lot with Mailchimp, and we didn't want to make a costly mistake going to a competitor, only to find out that it was terrible as well. Shopify email made it easy for us to switch.
It could do with some more analytics, but its good value and those would be nice to haves.
Great to be able to make automations as long and as complex as we want. Mailchimp asked for more money for every little feature. Mailchimp support was also non-existent.
Only thing we would want to have right now is to be able to set an email sender alias which is different from the store name.
I wish Shopify Email offered a template specifically for sharing blog posts. While the "Newsletter" template works great for monthly updates, I would love a nurturing email template for weekly value-based content. Since Shopify emphasizes blogging and has a great blog integration, why not include a dedicated email template for sharing blog posts and similar content?
I've been pretty happy with Shopify Email as an alternative to more expensive options. I'm trying to make more use of email marketing in general, and currently send very few, but overall it's been very easy to use the templates and tools provided.
So helpful in sending emails I switched from another email provider and strictly use this now. It is great you can see all the details you'd want to and make customer segments to send different emails to different groups.
I LOVE the Shopify email app! I really love how all my products are automatically integrated into emails. It has saved me SO much time over what it took me to manually link products in my old email provider, FloDesk, that I was paying for. Thanks Shopify!
So far, this email app has been very good. It gives me the base I need to create emails and easily lets me add what I need to create my unique style.
We are a small organisation and we moved from Klaviyo to this Shopify mainly due to cost. We were concerned that the move would be troublesome!!! BUT, the move was painless and we are happy with our new email applicaiton. It is easy to use and 'learning' it took only a little time.
I've been using this after switch from Klaviyo and like it so much better. All my "stuff" in one place. Create your colors/templates and go from there. Email program is robust and fairly intuitive. Make sure to have your DMARC aligned with Shopify to prevent issues. I still think Shopify could add more features such as showing what individual recipients opened, clicked on, etc. That is a feature I would like to see. Might be there and I'm missing it. Overall, happy right now.
I am an amateur user of email applications, so take that into consideration. BUT, for me and my current, simple, needs, it has been very easy to use. Also, my volume is very low so I have not passed beyond the FREE tier, which has been awesome (I look forward to getting into the numbers that are big enough to have to pay for as that should mean my business is doing well). And, I like that it is basically built into Shopify, making it very easy to use.

After Struggling and Cursing my way through an entire year with Klaviyo I was to the point I was NOT ever going to send another email again. I teach people how to make things pretty & I sell things to make things pretty.. So have an interface that had terrible templates that were so ugly ( Klaviyo) that took HOURS to customize and code. It is a breath of fresh air to use Shopify's emails.
It is SIMPLE.. if you are looking for all the bells and whistles this might not be for you. But after a year of having every metric under the Sun, not being able to use them.. and then finding 1/2 the sales that were being captured in the 'email metrix' were actual not really coming from email.. this is for me.
If you are someone looking for an EASY, streamline email option, this is it. If you are a Solo human like I am .. doing it all.. this probably is perfect for you.
If you HATE Klaviyo because you found it HARD to use & ugly .. this is ALSO for you!!!
