Shopify Forms

Limited customisation, no custom CSS, form submissions are permanent and no way to delete.

Cannot customise email sent, very limited options such as changing the colour of the button and text.

Appears to have good connectivity with Shopify, customer metaobjects etc.

Field validation would also be handy for things like VAT numbers etc

This app offers an excellent and easy to use UI, but it currently has a terrible bug: metaobjects that are created from form submission cannot be deleted due to an access problem introduced by a platform update in May 2025: https://shopify.dev/changelog/public-access-for-app-owned-metafields-and-metaobjects-is-now-disabled

Our stores expect hundreds of thousands of form submissions and this renders the app unusable since we would quickly exhaust our metaobject quota. I'll definitely keep watch for updates though.

Disappointed... Simple to use and free, but you cannot translate the forms, not even with the Shopify native Search and Discovery. Totally useless in a multilanguage site.

While it's great that is completely free, I found it very glitchy. First of all, if you're running multiple forms, you won't be able to select and choose the workflow/email you want to send with a particular form (spent over an hour with customer support, at the end I was told it's not allowed and will only pick one email for all the forms?). Secondly when a customer subscribes, the form disappears and won't show again on the website (usually a pop-up should show up anytime a visitor open the website). Probably something to think about as features but if you're running only one campaign (i.e. getting customers email to subscribe to mail list) then it's a great app.

In theory it is a great tool, but in practice it is super buggy and I never manage to finish because it will show an error of some kind. i.e. the field cannot be empty (but there is text writin in it) or there needs to be a pictrue ( but I selected without picture)

At first this app was working great for me, the flow of the forms was exactly what I was looking for. It was sort of a hassle linking it on the pages I needed them on but once I figured it out it looked great. I don't know for how long this has been occurring, because it used to work, but I checked my website on Safari and the multiple forms I had made do not show up on the Safari browser (I checked on multiple devices and no result). When I checked on Chrome they did show up. I am unsure if other people have had this issue, but I'm sure a majority of my traffic uses Safari and will not have access to the forms that would help me as a business tremendously.

Can not edit at all!! Now I can’t add a new line to the form. Can type but can’t click done to save it. Horrible. Now I either have to make it all over again or find a new software app.

Unbelievably useless App. Sure, it collects data and collects it in Shopify, but it's metadata, which is inaccessible by external no-code tools like Make/zapier. Regardless of what you do the apps cannot read the metadata within Shopify to extract data to tools like Airtable, which are vastly superior database tools.

Shopify decided to make it nearly impossible for non-coding people to use form submission data outside of Shopify, therefore this app is useless. IT shouldn't even be an app in the first place and should be fully built into Shopify from the jump, allowing for access to form data for external use. Yuck.

The form also likes to glitch and not submit when it feels like it.

Works well for a single language store, but limited flexibility and no language translation.
