Shopify Messaging

I've been using Shopify Email for 7 months and have found it to be a great replacement for Mailchimp. Design blocks are easy to use and emails can easily be personalized with the click of the mouse. It also integrates well with Flow for setting up automated emails.

I would give this app 5 stars if the reporting were better. While the open rates, clickthroughs, and conversion information is good, there is nowhere in the campaign report where I can see to which segment the email was sent. This means clicking out of multiple emails to piece together which metrics correspond with which segment. Frustratingly, there also isn't a place in the app to provide this feedback, so I'm writing a review instead.

Developers, if you are reading this please note my feature request below...

Feature Request: Show audience segment in Messaging campaign reports

When viewing a sent email campaign's marketing report (the tactic report page), there is currently no way to see which customer segment the campaign was sent to. This information is only visible by navigating back into the campaign detail itself.

Requested improvement: Display the target segment name (and ideally a link to it) on the campaign marketing report page, and include it as a column in the Messaging campaign list view.

Why it matters: Merchants running multiple segmented campaigns (e.g., Champions, Loyalists, lapsing customers) need to quickly cross-reference performance data with audience composition. Having to navigate back and forth between the report and the campaign detail adds friction and makes comparative analysis harder.

Works really well for me. Emails go out, very few end up in spam, the content is easily editable, the reports are great and so far I've had quite a number of sales from them.

Some people want more from it, but as a basic option it's perfect for what I need.

Good tool to help a business. We had a 20% conversion on the emails.

It's simple and fairly versatile. One thing that would make it 5 stars for me would be to make it easy to convert the newsletter into a blogpost to have on the website

Easy to use, sometimes it gets a little glitchy - I wasnt able to change an image on one of the images, so I used the default image that was already there. Other than that, it works fine, especially for a small business that is just starting out.

I love the email campaigns (although I wish they were prettier). However, the SMS feature should've gone through more rounds of testing before being shared with the public. I've been using a 3rd party text application for two years. When Shopify announced their messaging platform, I was elated because I could keep everything in one place. Well, my happiness quickly flatlined after being approved for messaging and sending my first message to a test group of 8 subscribers. The message took about 13 HOURS to completely send TO 8 SUBSCRIBERS. I was mortified and decided to test my entire sms list (imported from my 3rd party application). The message was time-sensitive. All of my messages are because my store is open once a month for 24 hours. The message had only been delivered to 30 of the near 5000 subscribers by 10 AM the NEXT day after sending it. By noon, it had only been sent to 94 of them. I ended up canceling the second message and have officially deemed the SMS feature USELESS. So much work needs to be completed before giving stores access to this feature. With my 3rd party app, my messages (all of them) are delivered within 1-4 minutes of sending them. I understand Shopify wants everything in-house (because I would love that), but some things just aren't working well enough yet and should be left to the pros until it's ready. It's unfair to the shop owners to get their hopes up and present something so wonky. It's not the well-oiled machines I'm used to dealing with in Shopify.

Rápida, útil.. me ayuda mucho a simplificar pero tal vez podrían tener más plantillas. Fuera de eso es muy practica y recomendable

Easy to segment customers, use and build email templates - works best when combined with designs from canva or other design tool. Once design elements are finished can build an email in minutes.

Reporting very helpful. Much more cost effective than sending from other bespoke email platforms.
