WHYYYY in the world change something that was working great??

I really, really hate when Shopify randomly decides to change things that are working. This is a repeat occurrence. It's like someone decided that "something needed to be refreshed" for the sake of refreshing, and they put a bunch of ideas in a hat and randomly pulled out the print order app to change. You guys like playing roulette with the interface, much to our chagrin. This includes live visitor displays, and many other countless things over the years that just made us have to figure out something new, instead of adding value.

The print order app is critical to every day operations, and many of us already liked and grew comfortable using the existing format. We all painstakingly took the valuable time to customize things to our preferences when setting up our stores. Now, we have to redo it...AGAIN.

This is a "make work" project for small business owners who don't have the time or the IT resources to get help fixing the awful new format. Import does NOT look the same. I still need to customize. Going to continue using the legacy app as long as I can. Hopefully, that will give the developers time to figure out how to make it seamless.

Very disappointed, Shopify!

Any edits to templates must be done via code, so there is ZERO options for self service if you don't know how to code. Copy and pasting from the old order printer to the new one does not work as it claims it should, there are a lot of things that don't carry over (like pictures, tag lines, QR codes for discounts, etc)

Hi, there! If copying and pasting your existing templates isn't working, it is possible that you have legacy variables in place that need to be updated. Details on migration between the old and updated version of the app can be found here: https://shopify.link/18NL. If you need help, Shopify's Theme Support team may be able to assist with minor adjustments within the scope of the Shopify Design Policy. Why.....?

The legacy app worked. It's more flexible, holds features this app doesn't and this app requires work from a specialist to convert old templates.

Furthermore, the instructions to create a template are false:
https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/orders/printing-orders/shopify-order-printer/customizing-order-templates

When you "open app", there are no "templates", nor a "create a template" option.

Thanks for your review of the new Shopify Order Printer App. We do have a help document available here (https://shopify.link/18NL) that you can use for assistance with migrating your old templates to the new app without the assistance of an Advisor. Of course, our advisors are available 24/7 via our Help Center to lend a hand: https://shopify.link/vRnL. As for the 'template's option, when you open the 'Shopify Order Printer' app, you should see 'templates' appear as an option on the left-hand side of your screen. From there, you can select that option. Then 'create a template' will be available on the next screen in the top right. -Imogen, Shopify Support

Absolutely awful. Templates don't migrate and no easy way to start over and create new templates branded and customized to your store - even from scratch. What a total about face from the old Order Printer app. For now, this is completely unusable, but I'm sure Shopify will force us to use this at some point in the future. The best you can do with this app is a basic shipping list that looks like a printout from a hardware store.

While you can transfer existing templates from Order Printer to Shopify Order Printer (https://shopify.link/18NL), there are some adjustments to you will need to make to the existing variables. That being said, if you need some help with with migrating or customizing the templates, then this is something that our Theme Support team can help you with. I just installed the new App, and I have to say everything about it is extremely craptacular. Halfbaked isn't even a remarkedly close comparison. Raw and still mostly frozen is a better description. I can't believe anyone would consider this App ready for deployment. The type is microscopic. I can code but finding where to try and make changes is anything but obvious. Changes like this make me wish we hadn't gone with Shopify.

No good at all.
Terrible designed.
Can't add logo to invoices.

I was trepidatious about updating to this new version of the app, but it was super easy get up and running. The custom template that we worked so hard on to perfect years ago was simple to import, and came through perfectly. Thanks, team!

Like others have said; typical Shopify wasting time and resources to "update" an app that didn't need updating, only to make it worse.

Importing our template from the old app also didn't work, it was missing information and came in much smaller and difficult to read. Frustrating as someone who paid for my template in the old app, because I will now need to pay more money to get a new template. A complete waste of money when the old app works fine.

why ? current one is perfect, and is all set up how we need it to be . new one is generic and clunky ..and not at all easy for the non techy . not happy . change for change sake

Wish they would have just kept the same app instead of ruining it with this new update. Hard to get any support and difficult to make changes. Go back to the original, please.
