SmartRMail is great and easy to use. If provides beginners ideas on email marketing that they may not have thought of. The only downside is not being able to customize some features, such as the pop-up messages, thank you messages (unless you know code ...if it allows). I was limited to the number of words I could have on the pop-up and it omitted the last sentence of my messaging. It also did not provide a preview of what it would look like on mobile until it was live. Overall, fairly good for beginners.

As a matter of fact, we’re currently re-building our pop-up feature, allowing users to add longer pieces of text, more fields, more triggers, more design options etc. We’re aiming at pushing live this pop-up rework by the beginning of September. We hope that you’ll love the app even more once it is available.
In the meantime, note that we do integrate with specialized pop-up providers such as JustUno, Sumo, Wisepops and Optinmonster. All of these providers integrate with Shopify, and some of them offer free plans for stores just starting out.

This app was easy to download and follow. It was my third attempt to find a suitable app for sending customers newsletters, and it made life very easy! Its not complicated and its free, doesn't rope you in or trap you into monthly payments once you have over 300 customers, like other apps. I found the newsletter, product emails awesome. Easy to import all my customers emails from Jilt and Mailchimp. It would be great if it combined products to make a slideshow in the newsletter but you can add videos instead

Glad you enjoy the app and that it’s made your life easy 🎉 That’s correct, we do not force users onto any plan. You can stay on the free plan as long as you have less than 1000 subscribers. Past this threshold, we’ll simply send you a note about this. We never automatically move users onto paid plans 😊
On a side note, Slideshows aren’t supported in most inbox providers, including Gmail and Outlook (here is a detailed doc on the subject for more information: https://www.emailonacid.com/blog/article/email-development/build-an-interactive-carousel-for-email/). However, we support gifs in image blocks, which means that you can create your own “slideshow” by creating a gif outside of the app, and importing this gif in just a click with our image block feature. If you experience any issue creating it, please make sure to contact our support team as we’ll be happy to assist you with this process 😊

The app was easy to execute right away. The ease in navigating through the app to create and automate campaigns helps to get you up and running quickly and with piece of mind that you can increase subscriber engagement.
UPDATE: My original email went out on Sunday so that explains the long delay, as they do not work on weekends, but when I was contacted on Monday I was very happy to learn they will make the changes and so I have increased my rating. In editing your customer list, there are no page numbers so going through the list to delete certain non-performing subscribers, you have to go through each page one-by-one to do the deletions (no way to do several at a time), and then it goes back to the very beginning. It can take a while if you have a large list. Otherwise we really like the format and how well it works and the templates are nice.
Just signed up for a paid subscription 2 days ago as we wanted to send more emails beyond the free allowance and since then there has been 2 issues. There has been no customer service reply in 24hrs to an email about customizing the email, which we have since sorted out, but the other was enough to make me cancel my subscription. There is a notation and the bottom of the emails that reads "Get more sales with SmartrMail"!!! I was totally horrified to see this as a paying customer! We tried to sort out how to remove it as so far no reply to our last email. This footer notation doesn't show in the preview either, which was really sneaky, so it was not noted until seen in the email we sent ourselves. We finally found that there is a small notation on the design page footer that has a small checkbox that reads "include logo footer", which is checked by default and has no indication of exactly what it is. Very deceptive. Just beware everyone!

We've removed our branding now. We love your suggestion so we're also implementing a change to remove this on all paid plans instantly this week. You're also able to remove this on free plan, unlike most other email apps.

Really simple and easy to use templates, but the only issues I had were in the beginning when I didn't really know how to switch fonts in the texts and edit some parts of my mail. After Ive gotten used to it, its really good and easy to use! Also, really helpful staff!!
If you are switching from MC, be extremely careful using SM automatic list import feature, dont use it at all. Its importing your unsubscribers as well Also SM creating accounts for them on your Shopify and mark them as accepting marketing and resulting in messing up your data. ----------------------------- I choose this app because it was the most reasonably priced email platform out there. Other options were ridiculously expensive. Simple to use decent app. However there are some issues needs to be addressed by their team. Once I switched from MC using their automated tool, they imported my unsubscribes as well and mark them as subscribers. For that reason my first email got very high amount of complaints. Secondly they created accounts on my Shopify for those emails accounts that unsubsribed and marked them as subscribers on Shopify , which is not good if I decide to switch platforms in the future. If they improve their platform and make it more sleek and without glitches, while not increasing prices , they would do very well. Also a better pop up email collection feature would be nice.

Thanks for the feedback. I believe our team already let you know that we quickly fixed the issue with the Mailchimp importer. For the customers that were affected, we'll reach out to sort that out. You can upload a list of the unsubscribes into Shopify and it will fix the issue.

Update: Customer service resolved my issue!
The app is easy to use and the emails look nice however, it doesn’t matter if no one is getting their emails! My last email was supposed to have sent to 141 people but only 2 people received it. I even sent 2 test emails to 2 separate accounts at different times of the day and nothing!

Thanks for the feedback. It looks like your were sending your campaigns from a gmail.com email address. This can significantly reduce your email deliverability, as some providers block bulk email from free emails like this. If you set up a business email like "email@example.com" that should help improve things, it'll also build a lot more trust with your customers.
Once you have that in place, I'm sure you'll get a lot better results with your next email :)

Not an bad email app at all. Somewhat easy to use on the first try, definitely got better with time! The mobile app vs the desktop needs some improvement because of emails not showing up the same in the edit as it does in the preview!!
Overall, customer service is awesome and I’m still using the app to send my emails!!
