My store is a small online store based in rural Canada. For this reason it's important for me to offer free local pick up options in neighbouring communities. These pickup locations are business friends who have agreed to allow my store to use them for a pickup location. Unfortunately, Shopify didn't have a suitable option to accommodate this (I don't want to stock inventory in these locations). Genie App to the rescue. I'll say it isn't exactly perfect BUT it's about as perfect as it can get when using a work around option. I will also say the customer service Ali offers is excellent and addresses issues quickly.

If you are looking for a solution - give Genie app a shot.

I am rating this app as 4 stars for now. Will change it to 5 stars once Ali adds a collection filter in "Exclude Products" or a "click all" feature when excluding products. Hard to do it per SKU when your site is multi-brand and pick-up is at your brick and mortar stores.

Thank you for your feedback!!! At the moment all merchants can exclude products from the pickup on a per-product basis. We are working on a feature from where merchants would be able to exclude on the basis of the collection as well. It would be available very soon.

Tech support at Genie is terrific! We're new to Shopify and needed a complicated pickup schedule, so I had a lot of questions. They were very helpful and responsive, and the app worked very well for us for what we were trying to do. In the future, it would be great if we could pick and choose which items have mandatory pickup and which have mandatory shipping. We tried to do that so we could also offer items from a print-on-demand company, but couldn't do that combination. In any case, we are very pleased with the app!
