No support to help issue
Hi - James here, Founder of the Easy Student Discounts app.
I'm sorry that our support was insufficient on this occasion. It certainly fell below the standard that I expect.
Our expectation is that the support team resolve queries either the same working day (UK time), or at least the next working day. As you submitted your enquiry on Friday morning and we responded to you on Tuesday afternoon, it fell well below my expectations and I sincerely apologise.
I believe this happened due to an internal miscommunication about who was monitoring our support channels at which times. We will work on this to ensure it doesn't happen again.
I will also be reaching out to you personally to work on resolving the issue that you have encountered.

*Update* I have adjusted my review up to 4 stars as the request a University feature seems to be working, and the workflow I have now for dealing with faulty emails is more streamlined.

When it works, it's great! It's easy for customers to use and is a bit of a 'set it and forget it' solution which is amazing. The customer support is great too, getting back to me quickly if I have an issue.
My only reason for not giving more stars is the amount of emails I have to go through, apologising to customers that the student discount didn't work.
Having to apologise to customers for an issue that isn't yours is annoying and a real shame. (80% of my customer emails are about a student discount not working)
Like I said, the support is quick on adding to the database, and they have added some features for shop owners to add universities to the database (I haven't received confirmation on these entries yet) but for every customer that emails asking why it isn't working, I'm sure there are more that just give up and shop elsewhere.
I think these features are a step in the right direction, but I can't give it more stars for the amount of emails and my own discount codes that I have sent out because of the delay.

We completely understand the inconvenience of occasionally having to manually provide discounts to your student customers. Our discounts work through email confirmation, which allows us to provide users with unlimited free student verifications. However, this also means that occasionally these emails are blocked by the customer's university email inbox. This is why we have introduced a manual discount feature, which allows you to generate discounts if you do experience this issue.
Additionally, although our database is constantly growing and currently contains over 12,000 universities worldwide, there are still a few that are missing from our database. We are combatting this issue by introducing new features, such as our request a university feature which allows you to add institutions to our database, following security approval. This feature will help to resolve the issues you are currently experiencing. (We also have an option where you can create your shop's own personal database and add institutions, without requiring approval from us.)
Again, we thank you for your feedback and we are committed to developing the app further.
The installation is very simple and easy, and the customer representative takes care of the customer when you get stuck. it is definitely an application that should be used.

This app is amazing - we currently only use this for Student Discounts which are only available in the UK for now however with other countries being added in the coming weeks I could not be happier. The pricing structure is reasonable and it eliminates the need to contact big agencies for huge sums of money that do the same thing. The team are very supportive and I receive regular email updates telling me about new things being introduced. I can definitely say this is one of the best apps I've downloaded for a very long time. 5 Stars.
