After an extensive review of all import apps in the App Store, I ultimately chose the 'Products Sync Master' app. Its user-friendliness, combined with a wealth of configuration options, impressed me.
With this app, it's possible to extensively edit and modify the data sets in the CSV file, ensuring a customised presentation in the shop. The import of variants with different option values is also seamless.
A crucial function for professional shops is the ability to read files from an FTP/SFTP server and import files automatically using a Scheduled Task Service. As an added bonus, the app also provides export capabilities.
