Theme Updater & Backups | OOTS

The theme updater makes loading new themes easy. The customer service is great. They got back to me in a timely fashion and answered all my questions. I recommend the app.

Great app! I recommend themes from Out of the sandbox

Since by default Shopify provide no automatic (or manual) way to run updates on your installed theme, this theme updater app by Out of the Sandbox is a godsend. We have used it 3 times to upgrade our Responsive theme and LOVE it. When you run the app, the update is installed as a new unpublished theme - so you have ample opportunity to ensure everything is A-OK before publishing. You will find that there are tweaks to be made after the update, you will not get a 100% match, however the alternative (without the app) is hours and hours of manual work to re-set your store settings. In our experience the app has undergone substantial improvements since we first used it. With our last run (26th October 2017, upgrading to Responsive 6.2.2), we had very little re-work to do. Languages changes did not come across, our footer and home page needed a few tweaks, that was about it, we were published within an hour!

An absolute MUST HAVE. I have been using the theme updater for several years now and it is the best way for me to upgrade themes. Be careful if you made custom changes to your shop or added other apps...Now that we are using Shopify 2.0 coding, most apps get attached to the new theme automatically, but some apps, that are not Shopify 2.0 upgraded, might have to be added manually. Otherwise, I really LOVE the app and the features it offers.

Theme updates are one of the largest development task requests we receive, not only is it a large costly task it is meticulous and requires thorough checking and testing to ensure the updates are done correctly and without issues.

To be honest, our theme update service is not a job we enjoy doing but realise the value and importance of updates to store owners, we offer this service as we are OOTS partners and also realise the importance to help them.

The ground-breaking new functionality of this app which allows you to bring over customizations to your up to date theme is incredible, to say the least, and is something that now further widens the gap between OOTS and other theme providers.

In order to take advantage of the new functionality you will need to be on Turbo 2.0+, Parallax 3.0+, Retina 4.0+, Mobilia 5.0+ or Responsive 6.0+

Wow works great. Was a little nervous about using this, but it updated all our design and Christmas Gift Products without loosing anything.

Great app for updating your theme and fantastic customer service from OOTS. Our website has a bit of custom coding, so I was nervous about tackling the update myself as I am not a developer. However, it all went incredibly smoothly, and now we are up to date. I had a couple of questions just the update process, and the customer support team was right there to help answer my questions and put my mind at ease. Also, the customization tracker that shows what changes have been made to the code vs the original is a hugely helpful tool. Thanks Out of the Sandbox team.

Update - We have been using the app for quite sometime now. had some issues but so what? every app on shopify has bugs, but the most important thing is Customer service!

They have great customer service and that's all that i care about.

Our Turbo theme was 5 years old and 4 major versions behind the latest release. We purchased 1-years subscription to the Theme Updater and it handled the update extremely well. There was a tiny niggle with some drop-down styling but OutOfTheSandbox Support team jumped on it and it was sorted immediately. Well done guys and thanks for your amazing support.
