I started using TikTok Shop immediately when it launched in the Netherlands and have been trying to make it work ever since.

One of my biggest frustrations is the amount of manual work required to get products properly listed. TikTok asks for all kinds of additional product metadata, even when that information is already available in other product fields. There is often no easy way to map or reuse existing data, so you end up entering the same information manually for product after product. For a seller with a larger catalogue, this quickly becomes extremely time-consuming.

Then there is the email communication. Every single day I receive numerous emails from TikTok, often in the most exotic languages imaginable and with little or no relevance to me.

Between the excessive manual work, the lack of real support, unresolved category issues and chaotic communication, TikTok Shop still feels like an unfinished product rather than a mature platform for professional sellers.

I had a few problems, was turned down at first, but the folks at Tik Tok worked with me to help me get approved. I am 62 and tech challenged. They were very patient and kept sending me emails on what information I needed and how to get it sent in until it was received. I was a little stressed due to my lack of tech skills. They were a big help to make the process better than it could have been. I am grateful.

i have been trying for a year, nothing works, no support except bots. i need a special category manually approved and nothing happens. i'd be happy to have real help on that but atm i'm giving up. plus email spam is sooooo intense, about 5 emails a day in all languages possible...

It was a bit confusing in some areas, especially when it came to porting over my products from Shopify. One example being that my kids shirts are 'restricted' and TikTok Shop is requesting a TON of documentation. I have a third party fulfilling my shirts for me so that is super annoying.

its quick and easy to set up and use, i wish they would also use the reviews we have on the products

BEWARE!
They will not provide a courier for pallet deliveries and if you ship anyway they will not recognise the shipping and refund the customer even though the item has been delivered!

Apart from the usual sign in issues across all social media platforms I find TikTok Ads creator to be ahead of its time. TiKToK is fast and easy to use. Step by step configuration steps with brief to the point notes, would be a game changer for the newbies. But Overall its an amazing Platform

i was confused at first with the 5 different sectors of TikTok...but after some clarification, i appreciated how they all integrate with each other for a well-rounded platform
