App stopped working! Generally I would not use this APP as the SEO Rankings plummed after installation. Also asked for refund due to not working of the app for over 7 months, this was denied therfore from 3* I had to change this to 1 star

This is Brian from Transcy. We’re sorry to hear about your frustration and would like to clarify several important points for transparency and fairness to other merchants.
- Regarding the claim that the app “stopped working for over 7 months”:
Our records show that you first contacted us about this issue approximately 9 months ago. Our support team replied multiple times (on 19 April, 2 May, 9 May, and 16 May) with investigation results and clear instructions to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, we did not receive any response, which prevented us from proceeding with the fix.
- Regarding SEO ranking concerns:
Transcy is primarily a translation app, designed to help merchants localize content and also SEO elements (such as meta titles, meta descriptions, and URLs) across multiple languages. SEO performance, however, depends on many external factors beyond any single app, including Google algorithm updates, site structure, content quality, backlinks, competitors’ activities, and overall store performance.
Without concrete data or continued collaboration, it is not possible to conclude that a drop in SEO ranking was caused by the app alone.
- Regarding billing and the refund request:
Like all Shopify apps, subscriptions are billed automatically as long as the app remains installed and active on the store, regardless of usage or ticket status. Since the app remained installed during this period, charges continued according to Shopify’s billing rule
- Regarding app functionality:
While admin access currently requires approval of a new pricing plan, the app itself has continued running on your storefront, and the language switcher has remained visible and active.
We also informed all merchants about our new pricing plans well in advance via email and in-app notifications, though it’s possible these messages were missed.
Despite the above, we still offered special launch pricing as a gesture of goodwill for being a long-term customer. Our team remains available should you wish to resolve this constructively.

The plugin added a span layer to my price. Even after uninstalling it and clearing all Transcy-related files, the problem persisted.Currently, I can only use JavaScript code to remove Transcy-related tags in real time during rendering to ensure my page displays correctly.

The problem has been resolved: The issue stemmed from my template's use of `.textContent` for price output. When Transcy inserted prices with `span class="transcy-money"`, `.textContent` escaped the internal HTML as plain text, causing the front-end to display as `span class="transcy-money".../span`.
After changing the template to use `.innerHTML`, the embedded spans rendered correctly, completely resolving the problem.
Note: When Transcy is running normally, it may automatically handle this HTML, ensuring correct price display; however, after uninstalling the plugin, a large amount of residual information can cause display errors, which is undesirable. For similar situations, the above solution can be used as a reference.
P.S. My prices still contain `span class="transcy-money"`, which I believe is unsolvable; I can only prevent it from interfering with my normal functionality.

We noticed that you haven’t reached out to us directly about this issue yet. To clarify, once our app is uninstalled, all Transcy-related code is automatically removed from your store. However, in some rare cases, theme customizations or cached files might cause certain tags to remain.
To assist you further, we’ve just sent a new collaborator request so we can check everything carefully on your store. Please accept the request and let me know once it’s done, and our technical team will promptly investigate and help you clean up any remaining code.

Since I started using Transcy, I’ve encountered a wide range of issues. For example, prices for the U.S. market are incorrectly displayed in Australian dollars, which is completely inconsistent with their promise that the currency would automatically switch based on the iPhone’s region. Another serious issue is that European and U.S. price separators have disappeared, making prices confusing and unclear. What’s worse is that these problems would never have been discovered if users hadn’t actively reported them.
Customer support is also disappointing. At the beginning, you are simply brushed off by AI-generated replies, and even when you finally reach a human agent, the response time is very slow. Up to now, these problems still haven’t been fixed. If you don’t want your advertising budget to be wasted, I’d strongly advise being cautious about using this software.
