Shopify Translate & Adapt

After spending 12 hours trying to resolve this with Shopify Support, I was ultimately told to translate the email manually.

The problem is that Translate & Adapt does not use the customized email template I created. Instead, it keeps pulling the original Shopify template. This is clearly a bug or, at the very least, a serious inconsistency in how the two systems work together.

There is absolutely no reason for Translate & Adapt to use an outdated/original template when the customized version is the one currently configured in Shopify. The support team should be fixing the underlying issue instead of asking customers to manually translate everything as a workaround.

Very frustrating experience, especially after spending 12 hours with support.

For some reason it auto translates only 2 languages. No obvious way to translate more. This is not mentioned anywhere, only when you reach the limit.

I wish I could give it zero stars. Absolutely terrible customer service. I was manually translating a language and it took one of the "free" auto translate spots for it. The system is clunky and slow and the customer service was completely clueless.

Avoid, you'll end up needing another solution anyway so just get it now.

Ich wollte diese App wirklich mögen, leider ist die automatische Übersetzung für einen professionellen Shopify-Shop jedoch nicht zuverlässig genug.

Das grösste Problem ist, dass die App teilweise nicht den Originaltext übersetzt, sondern Inhalte eines völlig anderen Produkts einfügt. So wurde beispielsweise die Produktbeschreibung von „Drosera Tropfen“ automatisch durch einen Text über die „Heidelberger 7 Kräuter“ ersetzt – ein komplett anderes Produkt.

Das ist nicht einfach ein Übersetzungsfehler, sondern ein inhaltlich falscher Produkttext.

Dadurch muss ich jede einzelne automatische Übersetzung manuell kontrollieren, weil ich der Übersetzung nicht mehr vertrauen kann. Bei mehreren hundert Produkten bedeutet das einen enormen Zeitaufwand.

Zusätzlich entstehen dadurch erhebliche SEO-Probleme. Suchmaschinen wie Google können falsche oder thematisch unpassende Inhalte indexieren. Das kann die Qualität der Produktseiten verschlechtern, das Vertrauen der Nutzer beeinträchtigen und sich negativ auf die Sichtbarkeit in den jeweiligen Sprachversionen auswirken.

Eine automatische Übersetzung sollte den vorhandenen Originaltext korrekt übersetzen und keine Inhalte eines anderen Produkts einfügen.

Ich hoffe, Shopify verbessert die Qualität der Übersetzungen oder bietet künftig eine zuverlässigere Übersetzungs-Engine wie DeepL oder ein leistungsfähigeres KI-Modell an.

for the love of god, give us a tick box to stop unit conversions for measurements and actively stop translating things that have the appropriate tag no translation tags. EVERYTIME I trigger translate I'm riddled with Anxiety, that its going to mess things up AGAIN. It's so inconsistent, I never know if its going to be a 5 minute job, or 3 day job.

Of all the things that Shopify change, why is this so neglected? It triples our audience when it works.

Terrible! This app does not translate properly, translations are weird and even inconsistent. Moreover, sometimes you need to do translations manually, and if later you happen to create a new product by copying an existing product that was translated manually, the translation of the old product will be shown and will not translate automatically, you can only do it manually!
It is a pure nightmare! I was struggling so much with this app! regret installing it, and now will uninstall.

Happy with the app. Easy to use and always work as it suppose to.
I wish it had support for at least 5 languages.

I had read other app that support more languages but they are all limited.

I would be more then happy to pay $10-20 if this app supported more languages

When using "Auto-translate all" in Translate & Adapt, all manually edited translations are overwritten without any warning or confirmation dialog. There is no way to distinguish between auto-generated and manually corrected translations before running the bulk action.
This caused significant damage to my store: product descriptions were replaced with wrong content from duplicated products, and customers received mismatched product information.
Feature request: Please add a warning before bulk auto-translation that alerts merchants if manual translations exist and will be overwritten. A simple confirmation dialog ("X products have manual translations. These will be overwritten. Continue?") would prevent this issue entirely.

Really wish it would support more than just 2 languages

Ehrlich, man sagt der App sie soll automatisch übersetzen, aber sie übersetzt nicht, es kommt zu unnötigen Tranlating missing Fehler auf die Webseite und dafür braucht man ja so eine APP leider nicht.
