You buy credit and they will make them disappear and play dump for you to buy again , if you count what you pay for you will see the scam in this app
Pay for a plan and then not have the monthly limit until 1.5 month later , so you pay 1.5 -2 months worth of limits to get half what you pay for
Daily it will disconnect from the Website, keep sending to another URLs language, app plugin itself will stop working and shows error or not loading at all .. disaster that causing me to lose sales daily
In contact with Shopify to officially report the app , highly questionable
Incomprehensible, no direct support only via email, you pay for a program that tries to translate, and then they charge you a high credit. Disappointing

Poor app and slow support. Do not recommend!
Stay far away from this app!
The translations they offer are terrible and trying to communicate with their customer support team is like talking to a wall.
They simply do not care in the slightest about your problems with the app as long as you pay them money. I have used this app for almost three years and therefore I have a lot of experience with their customer support.
Seriously save yourself the headache and the money and do not give these developers a single cent, for they do not deserve it.

Unfortunately, our experience with Hextom has been very disappointing for the following reasons:
1. Support System: In 2025, every serious SaaS uses a proper helpdesk with ticket numbers, categories, and agent assignment/shift handover. Hextom still does not — issues get lost or repeated endlessly, and we only hear “on the roadmap.” This is something that can be set up in one day.
2. Selector Issues: We have explained the selector problem multiple times, but it is still not solved. The mobile and desktop selector must be responsive and properly integrated into the header. Instead, it sits in the menu, breaking layouts and causing major UX problems.
3. Translation & URLs: Autopilot/AI translation breaks URLs by automatically translating them. Even if we fix manually, the system overwrites again. There is no “exclude” checkbox to lock values, which is a very basic feature.
4. Translation Styles: We were told translation style implementation exists, but no clear documentation or options are provided. For e-commerce, we need to choose between styles like “direct,” “title,” or “detailed.”
5. Inconsistent Languages: On live sessions (via heatmaps & recordings), some parts remain in English while others show Spanish or other languages incorrectly. This happens even after translations are applied. We confirmed this from real IPs, not just /es URLs.
6. Redirection Logic: The system only checks browser language, not IP. As a result, a customer in France using Chrome in English is shown the wrong version, causing serious localization and conversion issues.

Update after 3 years:
I am so done with this app. Especially the "Manual Translation Part"
Prepare for "something wrong while saving the translation, please try again later"-errors all the time. I have no interest anymore in working with the app's support team, because next time I need to work with the app it's either the same error again or something new. Like always.
Also this app is very poorly translated. Which is especially sad because it's a translation app.

It's a wonderful app, that you can use for free if you are using the manual translation. I've used it to translate ten of thousands of words and it works mostly without problems. If something doesn't work, support is there to help you!
However, they released a big update in January 2023 which caused some parts of the app to not work correctly or at all for almost four weeks. It didn't affect translations that were already saved in shopify, but it prevented us from adding new translation in several cases.
After the update works correctly, I see that it includes really helpful functionalities, but I really wish they will be more careful in the future when implementing new stuff.
Update: when you purchase extra words, you don't get them. The app is not working properly, contacting support is only agitating.
App is working pretty good, works well with the Taiga theme. But the translate AI is horrible, 50% of lines is wrong and it randomly doesn't translate bits of text at all. It also translates identical lines totally different and is not consistent at all. You can't trust it to translate languages you don't know. They charge you alot for it, which in my eyes is not appropriate with the quality delivered.
Support is not existent and the actual service is poor! It took me a lot of time to translate our gempages landing pages only to find out that they are actually NOT translated. They visual translation app actually replaces the words from English to the other language in real time every time which caused HUGE delays in loading the page and customer is not seeing his native language. Instead he needs to wait around 20 seconds his page to be translated... Ridiculous
Tried to solve that with the support, but all they did was to say "this is how our app works" and stopped answering to my email. I tried to reach them 2 times for the last 2 days - no answer at all.
Do not bother. There is a lot of other BETTER apps
Update: Moved to T Lab Translator, they actually have the necessary functionality and RESPONSD to my inquiry
We’ve been long-time users of several Hextom apps and have always appreciated the quality and reliability they bring to our business. Unfortunately, our experience with the Hextom: Translate and Currency app has been quite disappointing. On our larger site, the app has consistently failed to function as expected, and despite months of back-and-forth with the support and development teams, the issues remain unresolved.
Given the high standard we’ve come to expect from Hextom, it was surprising and frustrating to encounter such challenges with this particular app. We hope that the team can address these problems soon, as we would love to see this app live up to the standards of the other Hextom products we rely on.
