I have wanted to have user forums on our site for 10 years, but we were on an old legacy website and it just wasn't feasible. Then we upgraded to Shopify, and with the app store, anything is possible. I finally chose Xenforum as my solution after looking at a number of competing products. Installation was a breeze. But I wanted to run the forums in the "embed" mode, so they would show up with the same branding and layout as any other page on our site. This caused a number of minor layout and functionality issues, which I wasn't sure were solvable. So I created a forum especially for reporting forum issues, and had all of my employees pound on the forums and report bugs. We came up with 6-8 bugs with no idea how to fix them. Some of the issues I was sure had nothing to do with the Xenforum, but were probably Shopify theme issues.
I took a short break from work, and when I came home, the developer Chis Ad had fixed ALL of the issues! That is some outstanding customer service. I could not be more happy with the product and the customer service, and I finally have great user forums after 10 years. I would highly recommend this product to anyone wanting to add community engagement to their site. Thank you, Xenforum!
So far I am pretty happy with it. I wish there was more flexibility for headers in each individual page, but so far that is my only "complaint".

I have been using this APP for more than 4 years, and the customer service support is usually relatively fast, but recently I have encountered several problems that have not been resolved.
I can't receive the email verification email; because the forum started to receive a lot of spam posts, I had to turn on the 'Prevent unverified users' function, but this function only works for new users. For old registered users, they need to re- Send an email verification email to activate the user. But when I tested "Send verification email", I couldn't receive the verification email at all, and I still couldn't get a solution after calling customer service.
This actually brings a new problem: for old users of the forum, once I enable the 'Prevent unverified users' function, all old users need to resend the email verification email to activate, but it is not included in the user's profile at all. For the "Resend Email Verification" entry, only administrators can perform this action. The best approach is to allow users to "Resend Email Verification" themselves.
Once I address these few issues, I will revise this review to 5 stars.

Cool! Finally! It's here, a sweet forum format for Shopify. I been waiting, the other one looks pretty generic, this one has potential. Lets help them build it strong. Where are Shopifiers needing a user forum? I can't possibly be the only one.
I am not very savvy when it comes to website work. Yet got this forum set up with ease. The backend as well as the frontend is very user friendly. The customer support was brilliant. Received a replies to my questions within a an hour.
I was impressed with the app, talked with the dev about importing my old forum, signed up, and he was able to import all of our old WP Asgaros user forum posts, so it made for a pretty smooth transition. The forum is feature rich, presents well and has quite a few customization options.
Service has improved and we are finding the app is really helping reduce our business tech support load,
