First of all, way to expensive especially since it doesn’t work right. We have been in contact with their support for about a month now because we are getting errors with our tax code when importing. They said their engineers are working on a fix. It’s pathetic, I hope someone will add an alternative app to import sales to our accounting software. This one star is for Shopify too on allowing such a horrible company rip people off. Stop gouging every last cent out of everyone. We are paying a huge monthly fee to you anyways.
Basically what was said in many of the other reviews. The app has always had bugs that were tolerable but the latest stunt pulled by Bold is massively disruptive to my business. Bold have shown they are willing to remove features without any notification or regard for your business.
This is not a good partner to work with and they will cause more work than the time they save.
This is not worth the money. The hassle it creates in Xero is just extraordinary and very limited options in settings. I switched to a different plugin and am so much happier plus im saving money each month.
This application has never worked as advertised from the beginning and was one of the worst applications on shopify to date. Not only does the application emulate failure, but the support team also represent the notion of disappointment. By using this app, our company found that bold created more work for us, than it did making things easy. On top of that, when we queried the support staff about some major issues, they mostly brushed over the main points and simply helped us out with small minor complaints rather than addressing the bigger issue. All in all this experience was very poor and we have no intentions of going back to bold, or of recommending this application to anyone else, as it is not fit for purpose. Unfortunately ratings systems, don't allow you to rate a 0/5, but we are going to do this right here and say, we rate this application a 0/5.
Buggy app, sometimes orders magically disappear from xero... Now they want to charge for it? Classic scam, hook you until you're dependant, then charge you for it once you're integrated.
Are you guys aware of how completely broken the Bold - Xero integration is?? I've had ongoing issues since late June!! I'm seeing a number of negative reviews cropping up on the App site so realise I'm not alone in having problems.
I know this is now a third party issue (Bold) but many of your users must rely on this APP and as it was yours originally, this reflects badly on Shopify too.
We are facing a VAT return in the next few weeks and I have no idea of our liabilities because the Xero App has been so unreliable. This is not a small problem, it creates a massive logistical headache, how do we know what is correctly synced and what isn't. How do we handle the huge amount of work involved in correcting the problems?
This integration is absolutely fundamental in making the use of Shopify viable for us and I'm sure many other merchants. We are a multi million pound business shipping 500 orders per week. This is not a trivial matter and yet the months of delays seem to imply that Bold are not taking this seriously enough!
I already wrote a 1 star review but now I am updating it to continue alerting new users what they are getting into. Not only are we having to pay $60 a month now for these services... But the customer service is HORRIBLE and takes over a week to get ANY assistance (I am still waiting). Meanwhile, I am still waiting for someone to resolve the issues with invoices not being transferred into Xero from Shopify. And my financials are at a standstill because of this. I am going to be looking into changing to another provider ASAP because this is just dumb. And I've been with Xero for 5 years!
App does its job most of the time, but is buggy, disconnects randomly, makes your accounting cumbersome, and keeps introducing new limitations. The latest price plan change is a joke, as functionality does not justify paying that much money - we will be looking for a better offering.
I tried this app on my new GorgeousCreatures.com.au site. Support is slow, vague and generally unhelpful. No response from my last email with screen shots and request for help for days. I used this app for three weeks then it made such a mess of my accounts that I had to disconnect and paid my accountant many hundreds of dollar to fix up the duplicates and issues that this app created. It added products to Xero including the tax, the tax rates did not come over accurately for freight account code and Bold support and an app integration specialist could not work out why. You can only select one sales account code as well and I have about 20 different categories that I track so it took massive amounts of editing in Xero to fix the poor data coming through from the Bold app. I had to remove and redo payment to be able to edit the freight tax code for the correct country. Xero is a wonder tool but the Bold app does not work well enough to talk to Xero. It is going to be easier for me to do in manually.
We have been using this app for over 2 years now, I would avoid if you were looking for a seamless integration, the app has plenty of flaws and bugs that will result in inaccurate information being fed though to Xero, causing huge amount of workload that requires manual correction.
The support team replies every 1 or 2 days to try and help, but the programming within the APP is the major let down of it all. Now we are left with thousands of sales invoices, sale payments, credit notes, credit note payments and much more to be manually checked to ensure all errors were corrected.
The export report is very basic, it will show X amount has been exported, but you have no way of finding out what has or hasn't been exported, this is a huge problem when you are trying to check each export to ensure the app hasn't messed up again.
If you have inventory that requires 100% accuracy with part numbers, this app also will slip, some part numbers will be fed through, some will not entirely, and some will be fed through as an incorrect part number.
As mentioned in my first sentence, if you want a trouble free integration, I would suggest you look elsewhere.
Hugely disappointed with the app, they need better developers to write their app that doesn't screw up people's business and livelihood.
I would wish our experience upon anyone else, we usually leave positive reviews where we can, but this app has cost us a massive amount of resource as all our employees are now working on the accounting to ensure that Xero is error free, and unable to do carry out their originally assigned duty.
So unless you wish to have lots of errors in your Xero that you will not be able to easily identify, this is not the app for you as a Shopify owner that already has a million things to do without the need for this amount of stress and unnecessary workload!
