didnt support product star rating in product schema

We would like to clarify that our app does support star rating in product schema, as shared in our latest email to you.
Since you are using a compatible reviews app, our app will automatically pick the related schema details from there and add them to the Product schema for rich search results, as long as there is at least one review left for that product, and the right settings in the reviews app have been set.

I'm not a big leave a review person, but I love this plug in, makes everything so much faster and easier. The biggest party I love is the customer service. When they answer your question, they don't just give the answer, they qualify the answer and teach you the "why" of something.

Update: The company reached out to me to help remove any remaining pieces of code. They have VERY extensive customer support. They have been very helpful. If you have any questions or concerns reach out to them and they will help you.
"I tried to uninstall this app and it left code in my theme. Contacted support and they said I need to re load the app and click the uninstall code button. So I did that. Then still my Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions would not load. All my rankings dropped. I had to hire a fiver programer to remove the remaining Yoast code. Its a fine app until you try to uninstall. "

March 31 reply: Thank you for sharing your feedback with us, though we're sorry to read about the experience you have. We understand how troublesome this must have been, so please allow us to address your points and concerns.
First of all, indeed, our app does not generate a different sitemap, but there are options that can affect its content to a certain extent (for example, by not indexing certain pages). We have a feature request related to sitemap handling, so we'd like to thank you for your suggestion.
Regarding the leftover code, this usually happens if the app is deleted without completing the two-step process (https://yoast.com/help/remove-yoast-code-from-theme-in-shopify/), which requires first deactivation of the app to remove our code from the theme, and then deletion of the app from the Shopify admin. Or if another (usually SEO-related) app interfered with the removal process.
Fortunately, there is no need for time-consuming manual code removal (which we can do for you if needed) in this case, as this can be easily fixed with a simple reinstallation and uninstallation process.
Here are the next troubleshooting steps to take:
1. Re-install the Yoast SEO app on your site.
2. Instead of "Get a subscription," click on "Remove theme modifications.". Please wait until the process is finished.
3. Click on Go back to Apps and then remove the app again.
Once this is done, the Yoast SEO code should be completely removed from your theme files, but you can always contact us for any clarifications or further assistance if needed (from the beacon within our app or by sending us an email at support@yoast.com).

I know Yoast from years back on WP. Already then it was the #1 SEO app. So obviously I started using it for Shopify. But I have mixed feelings about the Yoast SEO for Shopify app. Compared to other main SEO apps Yoast is seriourly lacking features such as:
- A SEO dashboard which gives you your SEO status, page speed status, etc
- Image optimization is not possible within Yoast
- Image alt texts are not possible within Yoast. (adding alt descriptions to thousands of product variant images is a lot of work)
- Page speed optimization is not there as well (lazy loading, code optimization/minification, etc)
- No FAQ function (which is quite important for SEO)
- A process that guides you through all the needed steps to optimize your site for SEO is missing.
Where it really shines:
- What is does really well is the page by page optimization. it gives you detailed analysis of SEO factors, readability, SEM factors, SM tweaks, etc. The years of SEO experience really show off here.
- Adding schemas/structured data to your pages automatically (except FAQ)
- Readability insight with scoreboard.

Don’t uninstall it because code gets stuck in there and then your website doesn’t work. And God forbid no one tells you because they want that money. It’s all about the money.
UPDATE December 11, 2023: For anyone reading along, we would like to clarify that this is not a matter of charges, as the subscription ended at the point when the app deletion was performed by the merchant.
The code issue occurred because the app was not deactivated before being uninstalled/deleted, according to the uninstallation process: https://yoast.com/help/remove-yoast-code-from-theme-in-shopify/
Despite our attempts to assist the merchant on this matter as soon as they contacted us, unfortunately, this was not possible as the store is no longer hosted on Shopify.

We understand some of our users uninstall the Yoast App using the uninstall button under Apps and Permissions in Shopify settings. This only cancels the app subscription and deletes the app from their store.
This step does not remove the Yoast App theme integration, which makes the app work and leaves leftover code.

I enjoy using this app. For me someone who is new to marketing online and SEO. The app makes it clear and easy to see what I need to optimize. The color ranking is perfect for that! My only suggestion is AI in the app to help with keywords, tags, and descriptions. At the moment, I'm switching about to do that. It would take this app to space and beyond. AAA+++ recommend to anyone.

Be careful using this app. They will still charge you after the 14 day trail. I canceled my subscription and i was still billed 19.00 through shopify. And shopify is no help either.

Would be much more helpful if all the steps were automatic. Now it takes lots of time to fix everything, and it doesn't guarantee that everything is working right.

Regarding your point about all the steps being automatic, though it is totally understandable, and we do have some parts automated, we'd like to clarify that this is not the best approach for SEO. SEO is more of a marathon rather than a sprint. It works in a dynamic way, so simply automatically filling-in data is not optimization, something that the always-evolving search engine algorithms can identify.
This is where our app comes in and helps you learn SEO, write great content and be technically compliant with search engine requirements and suggestions for your store to be displayed with enhanced "rich" search results. This can lead to improved ranking and increased organic traffic.

I use Yoast for optimising content. Yoast provides easy steps to increase SEO for all pages. I like the easy integration, support and the wealth of information available. The only thing missing is checking for broken links.

I don't usually take the time out to leave reviews unless a product/service is like no other. I have been using Shopify for my e-commerce store since 2017 and have tried and tested a few SEO apps over the years. There has not been one like Yoast SEO and now can confirm that this is the ultimate SEO app in the market. What I particularly like about this app is its ease of use and their customer service; their response time is quick and efficient. The Yoast SEO team truly go above and beyond in answering your questions and provide a bespoke solution to your store. Having said that, I have learnt world class holistic SEO practices from their SEO courses available at Yoast Academy. I was so invested and convinced by their resources as it provided me with results that I could have never imagined of. For example, a lot of my products were listed on Google's 1st page and were also listed on Google's Shopping tab, within a matter of few weeks of after implementing their app and following teachings from their courses. As a result, I upgraded to their premium plan without hesitation. The courses are thorough and will teach you the core basics you need to know of SEO. I had no knowledge of SEO when I first started and always felt overwhelmed when I tried to learn from other apps and resources I tried. Taking their courses was the best decision I ever made for it taught me valuable skills of SEO best practices that I can apply in any case or scenario. It broke down each pillar of SEO; on page SEO, technical SEO and off page SEO and how to use them all together for quick and reliable SEO success. If there is any app you want to install for your online success or invest in to learn SEO; make it Yoast SEO because you will be killing two birds with one stone. My only complaint is that I wish they had launched Yoast SEO on Shopify sooner as it would have saved me a lot of time, effort and money that I had wasted trialing other apps trying to achieve what I achieved with Yoast SEO within a few months of being committed and dedicated to the app. Definitely recommend!

This is the app to get for SEO improvement. Many other apps have some additional features but cant compare on the things that matters. I do most of my edits in Shopify but use Yoast to control the outcome. Amazing chat support that delivers above and beyond for advice on SEO strategy. Thanks, Sid!
