Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand that there may have been some confusion around how the app works and how to uninstall it properly, so we’d like to clarify a few important points:

No overwriting of data:
Our app does not overwrite your existing meta titles, descriptions, or page-level schema stored in your Shopify store. That data remains intact and untouched.

How output works:
The app does override the output of SEO titles, and meta descriptions but again, it does not overwrite the original data. Initially, we mirror Shopify's SEO title and meta description values, using related snippet variables and following certain best practice templates using those variables. If, for any reason, you wish to change that, you can pick the variables you wish in our content settings, or leave those fields completely blank, and our app will pick up the details already set in Shopify.

Uninstallation/revert process:
Based on the details you shared here, we understand that you originally deleted the app without completing the two-step process (https://yoast.com/help/remove-yoast-code-from-theme-in-shopify/), which requires first deactivation of the app to remove our code from the theme and then deletion of the app from the Shopify admin.

Fortunately, there is no need for time-consuming manual code removal (which we can do for you if requested) in this case, as this can be easily fixed with a simple reinstallation and uninstallation process.

Here are the next troubleshooting steps to take:
1. Re-install the Yoast SEO app on your site (we see that you already followed this first step).
2. Instead of "Get a subscription," click on "Remove theme modifications.". Please wait until the process is finished.
3. Click on Go back to Apps and then remove the app again.

Once this is done, the Yoast SEO code should be completely removed from your theme files, and the metadata output will be restored to what you had before. But you can always contact us for any clarifications or further assistance if needed.

In all cases, we would like to see how we can help further on this matter, so our team will soon reach out via email.

Lastly, we'd like to clarify that we have not responded earlier to your review, as systemically, Shopify reviews are visible within two days after being submitted.

We'd like to clarify that when our app is properly uninstalled (first deactivation and then uninstallation), it does not cause SEO or indexing issues and restores the relevant settings to their previous state.

From our first interaction, we noted that multiple schemas were active (whether those were from another SEO app, custom code, or your theme) in the source code. In such cases, even if our app was deactivated before uninstallation, it’s possible the process was interrupted or could not complete properly due to that app’s code or other external factors, such as theme customizations, request limitations or a network issue. Unfortunately, we can’t know in advance how other apps or external factors may affect the uninstall process, but we’re always happy to assist further when our support team is contacted and provided with store access.

Regarding the message from the Shopify support advisor, we’ve raised this directly to Shopify in order to investigate internally, as it may be based on a misunderstanding or incomplete information if the uninstall process was not followed or an interruption occurred.

Our development team is actively monitoring this, and we will implement the feature as soon as Shopify adds support for it in their API.

At this time, the search option for Pages is not included, which is why our app offers it for Products and Collections instead.

We can definitely imagine how it feels when your efforts do not bring the expected results. However, we want to address a fundamental misunderstanding:
while the Yoast SEO for Shopify app is a tool that can help optimize your store for several SEO factors, it's important to remember that a green SEO score doesn't always guarantee top rankings or increased traffic. Even if everything is perfectly optimized, if that has been done for not the proper focus keywords or too competitive ones, the results can be underwhelming, and that is not related to our app's efficiency.

In addition, there are several ranking factors, both on and off your website, that can impact your store's visibility and performance in search results, especially in a very competitive industry like the one you are in.

A couple of these factors that are not related or affected by our app, is mobile performance and accessibility, where we noticed your store has significant room for improvement. When these factors are not optimized with related tools, then ranking and traffic can be affected, as best SEO results require a holistic approach.
