Scam company.
Once you cancel your subscription, they’ll tell you your annual fee is non-refundable—even if you’ve only used it for a month or two. They won’t prorate or refund the unused portion.
What’s worse, they never inform you of these unreasonable policies upfront. No warnings, no notices, nothing.
After you’ve paid, you’ll realize that Yotpo significantly slows down your website, especially hurting CLS performance. When you decide you no longer want to use it, they’ll just say, “Your subscription is canceled, but you won’t receive any refund.”
Shopify Plus support will simply tell you, “It’s a third-party app, there’s nothing we can do.”
Total scammy behavior.

Horrible company! For the past 2 months they have overcharged us. We have the $15 plan. They have billed us $119 for the past two months.
We contacted them last month and they stated they would escalate it through their billing department. They refunded $49.80. If they billed $119 and our plan is $15, they should have refunded $104. They claim the remaining funds went to "some app credits."
This month, they billed us $119 again!! We are now talking to their support again and getting the same "We will escalate this through our billing department" again.
I see others who say this is an excellent app and that was one of the reasons we opted to use this one over others. The app works fine; however, their billing system absolutely ruins the value the app provides.
We will be filing a complaint with our bank against this company. I encourage everyone thinking about using this app to BEWARE!

We had a terrible experience. The whole platform was buggy for us and it took forever to get things done. The final straw was that emails for reviews post purchase just stopped going out with no explanation. We switched to a new provider and got 3 reviews in the first hour (while not getting any in 30 days on yotpo.)

I ended my subscription with Yotpo over a month ago within the free trial period and they're still trying to charge my credit card for a service I don't use. I've reached out to customer support several times regarding this issue and they offered no concrete solution. There is no option to end my Free plan subscription with them, there is no option to remove my credit card from their dashboard. I'm incredibly frustrated by the lack of transparency and support by the Yotpo team. If I could leave you a star rating in the minus, I would.

Yotpo is one greedy company. They suck you in with the "Free" card and then if you want any of the extra features it turns into big bucks and a year contract. On top of the big bucks, they limit how many reviews you can request and then you have to pay an overage fee per review. Save yourself some time and money and go with the Shopify review app.
We moved to Yotpo from Loox and it was a big mistake. We were mislead on how advanced is the app. We had all customization options available on Loox on the plan of 40 per month and on Yopto we can customize very few things paying 170... Yotpo charges you for everything (extra review requests sent too) and on the top we spent days trying to migrate to the app and it was a bug on a bug on a bug.
After using it for 2 months I noticed that we do not get any reviews with photos or videos and we used to get several per week on Loox. When I asked the support how I can improve the landing page for the review request in order to get more reviews with photos/videos they told me that I should move to a more expensive plan... On Loox it was available on basic plan.
If it's your first review app probably you'll find it fine but when you've already tried couple and have experience, you'll see that Yotpo charges you for nothing. It's not worthy of the pricing they offer.

On boarding fails
Worst app on the market. The support is terrible, they promise to solve the problem, but weeks pass and the problems are not resolved, there is a lot of bureaucracy, they transfer the ticket from one department to another, in other words, they simply shift papers and do nothing to solve the client’s problem. And this for a few hundred dollars a month. I use another application in my other stores and support from a competitor solves my problem in 24 hours!!!
despite the fact that a subscription costs a few dollars, not several hundred!

I have been with Yotpo since 2015. I am disappointed to find Yotpo doesn't compare well with reviews.io, they offer a more comprehensive package for a cheaper price. i.e custom questions, customer images and Google rich snippets. I tried contacting support but a robotic support agent didn't reassure me.
I used this app for 10 years have thousands of reviews but now that I could not afford their premium level they have locked me out of my account and REMOVED over 10,000 plus reviews of all my products over the years just because I wanted to switch back to the free service instead of paying during COVID, so BUYERS BE WARE they are vicious with their tactics
