The customer service is wasting a lot of my time. I believe they don't have time to read properly my emails and they keep going answering with completely pointless answers. I think it would take just a little bit more to understand what is my problem and try to really help me. By the way.. Automatic email after purchase are not working properly and I still don't understand if they are sent after the purchase or after the order is fulfilled. (I already wrote 3 emails to understand this point and I just got 3 answers without an answer!)
I will now have to invest time to understand if it's possible to transfer the reviews to a new app and how to do that..
For sure I cannot hope in any real help from this people.
Thank you for wasting at least 1 hour of my time!!!
DO NOT USE THIS APP ON ENTERPRISE. It is a complete heist. The team is incompetent. It's been three months and loyalty and reviews are not live. Their reviews system is literally the worst on the market. They haven't updated it since 2015. Please, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Use Junip for reviews. It's a fraction of the price and ACTUALLY works.
Hey, Jaillene from the Reviews team here 👋
We're sorry to hear that you're facing setup issues. We're continuously working to update our products as well as our pricing and packaging options, and our support team is always available to offer any assistance.
Upon downloading this app, it automatically started emailing my customers asking for a review even if they had not gotten there products yet. It went of the default settings they had, it should not have been automated until I had a chance to check the settings and enable it myself! You guys need to fix this!
BUYER BEWARE: I've been with Yotpo for several years. We opted to move to a new review platform to save money for our small business. When I went to cancel my annual plan shortly after it auto-renewed, I was unable to do so in my account before it auto-renewed and needed to reach out to Yotpo support. They wouldn't cancel my account via email. They made me do a zoom call with their rep who instead of cancelling and disabling the auto-renew they repeatedly tried to upsell me more services. I was told by Yotp: "I really do appreciate where you're coming from and I'm sorry to hear, however we are unable to provide a refund on a live agreement as it has already been renewed per the terms. Because the contract renewed in June for a successive 12 month term, we are restricted in terms of changing the terms or the billing structure at this time but would be happy to revisit it in June prior to renewal. Unfortunately we don't have additional recourse here - the next step on our end would be to speak with our legal team, which in the spirit of partnership we are eager to avoid." Yotpo simply took my $6,388.00 with nothing more than an oops, sorry you're stuck with us. If you're considering working with this company know the support is subpar and getting out of an annual plan is very hard and they will upsell you more services - that's been my experience. The platform and functionality of Yotpo is fine and gets the job done. I've used them on both woocommerce and shopify. Now, I'm stuck with them until my annual plan is up for auto-renew, which I'm sure will never be cancelled and will require more zoom calls where they read from a script and try to sell moooooooore Yotpo.
We value your feedback and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Our team has reached out to you offering a dedicated CSM as well as access to Visual UGC and three months of Yotpo Reviews. Please reach out to our team so that we can work together to make things right.
Great app. Only complaint is that it costs way too much to do things that should be basic functionality such as Q&A and commenting.
EDIT: Changing our review from 3 to 1 star. Yotpo's service has decreased dramatically.
They told us we could upgrade to a $49/mo. plan to enable commenting on reviews. What they didn't tell us was that this would cap our MAPS at 150/month.
Also, customer service is extremely slow and they've outsourced it so that you only get emails at 1AM and have to wait 24 hours to get a response.
Very disappointed considering we've been using this app for over a year now and this is how we are treated.
We will probably uninstall soon and move to a better competitor.
I installed Yotpo thinking I'd set it up later the next day. When I got to it the next morning I found it had already emailed review requests to my subscribers without my knowing. I lost a handful of subscribers because I didn't even get to brand the emails going out or manage the communication. And there's no way of pausing it other than uninstalling the app, which takes 48 hours for Yotpo to get around to doing.
Thank you for your feedback — we're sorry to learn that you're experiencing difficulties with our Reviews product. Our support team has contacted you for a product call, but we have not heard back. Please reach out to us so that we can better understand the issue and provide assistance.
So tired of Yotpo. Support is almost non-existent. Wait a week for Yotpo to respond to any support request, then get a reply that is completely irrelevant. Yet if I want to upgrade to one of their ridiculously expensive plans, I'll be contacted within an hour.
NEW UPDATE:
As of September 1. 2015. the premium version will send all of your reviews to google! Without moderation or being able to eliminate negative reviews placed by customers or former employees, etc. So expect to do battle with Google if you want bad/fraudulent reviews removed. Bad move Yotpo.
UPDATE:
Despite our original concerns, this company does seem to be quite legitimate. The vast majority of its users are free users with access to limited services. The $12 million + it has raised in funding is being used effectively to produce an app that has interesting features. Some of the features are still in BETA stage (which is not mentioned in its ads), while most others are fully functional.
We have purchased the PRO version. The sales tactics are a bit aggressive. The introduction people are located in Israel so it is best to contact them in the early morning. They do assign someone to all prousers to help with installation, problems, etc. which is very impressive..
We did get over 80 reviews in the last few days -- as Yotpo send review requests back to January (without our permission and to our surprise). We are happy with the number of reviews, Some were great, some were helpful and we got a few rants as well. No surprises here.
The google benefits are too early to test/review.
Overall, the company is impressive. When we know more about the Google/SEO benefits we will update our review. I am not sure about the concern that Yotpo may be technically spamming our customers but will investigate. Our customers have not complained. We cannot give 5 starts because of the way they dealt with the initial signup. And also the fact that some of the benefits are in beta worried us. When we know more, we will update our review.
Original Review:
We are a little scared of this company. A couple of weeks ago we signed up with the free app. We sent out 50 review requests and then were promptly cutoff. We got 6 reviews so we thought this was good! Being cutoff after sending 50 reviews is to be expected in the free version. However we wanted to send 750-1000 review requests a month.
So we started to investigate the price tag of over $2000 USD per year. We felt it might be worth it if it really worked. So we started to look at Shopify sites that gave Yotpo 5 star reviews to see how the google results were going. Most of the companies that gave Yotpo 5 star reviews do not exist or do not use Yotpo for reviews. So we became very concerned. We couldn't find one Shopify site with Yotpo that had their review listed in google. Not 1.
So we called Yotpo. They gave us the name of two companies and showed us how they got 5 stars showing up in google by having us login remotely to their computers. They said we would not see the five stars from our google search because the companies were from New York. We believed this. The salesman, Kunal Khemlani seemed very convincing.
On Thursday they offered a 20% discount to try to get us to sign up. We agreed but they said we had to pay for 3 months in advance. They said we were committed for a year. They would send us a contract and on Saturday we would be walked through the signup and procedures.
We haven't heard from them since. I wonder if they are scam artists? I feek rather foolish.
Really expensive like crazy!! its seems better to go with the shopify made reviews app. i wonder how so many are happy with the Lite version with such a limited functionality.
Be extremely careful before you install this app - It started spewing out unformatted review request emails to my existing customers before I had even logged into the client portal for the first time!!!
It's caused no end of confusion amongst my client base, some of whom have accused me of spamming them!
Yotpo's support team don't seem to understand what is going on either which has hardly left me brimming with confidence...
