SCAM At this best. They will keep your money that has not been spent. They make it very difficult to end the campaign - this is not the same as 'pause'. And harder to get a refund of unused funds. The funny thing is you don't even know what your un-used funds are.
Be Very Careful When You Use This Company - They Pre- Charge you and If the budget is not spent, you have to manually request to be refunded. They will not tell you about it. Think paying for a phone bill but you are pre-paying for all the features and minutes even if you use it or not. Very unethical.
Ujala:
If you end the paused campaigns and if the budget of the new campaign is low and the account balance has enough credits then you will not be charged.
→
Right now
→if i start a campaign
→with 25 dollars per day
→will i be charged again?
Ujala:
If you do not end the paused campaigns, yes you will be charged as the billing is upfront.
Be very careful - they have alot of your money saved up. You have no way to view this. For example, if you have a campaign of 100 and spend only 50; they will keep 50 until you manually request refund.
Unlike criteo, you cannot end a campaign.
'Ujala:
This is not a scam, it is just that you need to allow the campaign to serve for 5 days atleast'
Beware! DO NOT use this app, they refused to give me a refund after uping my daily budget without permission, claiming they can increase your daily budget by 20%. A representative contacted me to use their app, and it is the BIGGEST mistake I have made since opening my small store about a year ago. Guess what? My weekly paid in ads was $80 and jumped to $150 plus for 3 weeks (I mistook that they were taking payments in advance only to realize they were not). I contacted support and they only fed me bullshit about how they system will never overcharge you, well setting up more ADS then the consumer wanted is NOT right. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Wish I read the bad reviews before putting in my credit card info.
Couldn't use this because they are pigs and make you spend 10k a month if you are a CBD company. Way to support small business. Ridiculous. So basically if you are a bunch of white tech dudes that raised millions you can advertise CBD vs a smaller profitable business. Way to go.
I was very excited in the beginning, but then we come very disappointed. When I ask him for assistance and support. I am visually impaired after setting it up the next screens to control. The ads are not functional at all. I cannot click anything on the screen I told them for assistance that this is not in compliance they haven't even acknowledged, I don't know what it takes when pitch people blow you off because you have a disability or asking for assistance they don't give a damn but you got to take your money I had someone else assist me I'm starting a campaign putting the credit card number in and they charge me $70 right at the top 10 I'm getting some stats on the screen and I asked him that I need assistance and I want my money back for charging me ahead of time they're telling me who the campaigns not there but there's just distichs that show me that there is either way it's a frivolous example of what support supposed to be there not looking into the problems just trying to gratify themselves. It's very sad that one individual our business has to give up other efforts.
Hi George!
This is Rohini from AdRoll's Customer Support Team.
Firstly, I'd thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent experience with us. We greatly value your input and are genuinely sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction.
We understand how important it is to have a seamless and positive experience with our services, and we deeply regret any inconvenience you may have encountered.
Regarding the perceived charge, I'd want to clarify that no amount was collected from your account. The amount of $70 was for the authorization (not an actual charge) which happens when a campaign is launched or the budget is updated for an existing campaign. Trust me, these are just for the validation process and we void the authorization amount immediately from our end. You may refer to this help article to know about authorizations - https://help.adroll.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049332892-Payment-Method-Authorization-
Coming to the ads that are not running, kindly know that we have a few restrictions and you could find our policies overview here: https://help.adroll.com/hc/en-us/articles/360030884472-Advertising-Policies-Overview
Once again, I sincerely apologize for any frustration or inconvenience you've experienced. Also, I'd love to follow up with you personally and address all your concerns that can help understand our platform, hence, I will write a detailed email. I hope that helps.
Regards,
Rohini
Update 2:
The individual in charge of Shopify integration reached out to me and offered a $100 credit. So we turned the campaign back on and surprise - there's no credit. They billed me again. Incredible that they can continue to defraud Shopify customers and Shopify allows them to still be listed in the marketplace.
Update:
The outsourced customer service team is very difficult to work with, remarkably incompetent. When I try to run a campaign for $10/day, they attempt to preauthorize my card for $896. They are unable to offer solutions. I have to spend time explaining their system to them. Finally spoke to a US based team member who promised to get back to me with a solution - that was 2 months ago - still waiting for that solution.
Original review:
Spent $2,000 on their automated retargeting campaigns. Spent several hours talking to customer service over the past few months in an effort to optimize and improve campaigns. The end result was only 16 conversions. $125 per conversion made this an expensive failure.
I rarely take the time to write reviews, but this is definitely one of the worst-created platforms I've seen lately. It often doesn't work on my browser (chrome), it's incredible buggy, and often counter-intuitive. it's the only product where I will use a different browser to make things work, and something else will break. It never works the way I want it and in the meantime, the live chat agents are sending you 10 transcripts of your own frustration plus a customer survey. I can't put my finger on it, but this app just raises my blood pressure to boil.
The absolute worst customer service of all time. PATHETIC
If you think this is an option for you my advice is to make sure you learn as much as possible from your account rep you have the first 30 days; take notes and make sure your tracking pixels are working because afterward you are totally on your own. The online chat cannot answer questions. They will create a ticket and not follow up. AdRoll must be very successful for some because they do not care about helping you once you are a regular customer. I paused my campaign for several months and when I had more money to spend on a campaign the support was extremely negligent; they were unable to assist in making sure my tracking pixels were working properly. After 100,000+ ad impressions my ROI was literally 0%. Sign up at your own risk. FYI: when you do a search in their Help section under "cancel my account" there are no results!
Been using it for 4 months spend around $400 a day ($12,000 a month). It's far less effective then other ad retargetting systems. Google will get you a lot more traffic for $400 a day. With Adroll we get only 65-100 clicks a day were with google for $400 we got closer to 400 to 600 a day and a lot more coverage and conversion. The reporting basically reports anyone who sees the ad and buys something, not always people who click on it. Stay away. Use Creito, Yahoo, Google, anything but AdRoll. I paused everything and deleted my account today, my agency suggested them. Otherwise I would I shut down long ago. If your agency suggests them look for a new agency also, it means they don't know anything about online marketing.
Worst experience the second time, Not approved charges $$$ and never get money back, NO customer service support by phone. Don't use this app and this company!!!

Why can't we choose zero stars?
I tried AdRoll twice for my company and noticed awkward billing and click attribution both times.
In the first instance, everything was moving along fine. Then, all of a sudden my charges per click increased exponentially. Concerned, I paused my campaign and then ended that round.
I returned to the platform in January of 2017. Even though my customer base was small, they were maxing out my daily spend. Which I wouldn't have minded. However, I noticed that their click attribution wasn't even close to what I was seeing in Shopify or Google analytics. I contacted customer support and it was clear the rep was "grasping for straws," providing me more excuses than solutions and only exasperating my concern regarding this company.
Personally, I hate working with online ad companies who are not transparent regarding their billing/attribution practices. There are plenty of other options out there. Facebook has their own Dynamic Ads protocol as does Google. I have lost far too much money using AdRoll and I hope this review saves other stores from similar pains.
