AfterShip worked great for years, and then all of a sudden, the notifications to our customers started to make no sense. The *|ITEM_NAMES|* tag has been broken since the beginning of August 2020. Customers were receiving notifications with tracking numbers that didn't match with the product mentioned in the notification. It caused a CX nightmare. We opened a support ticket in the beginning of August when this began happening. Support said that they would have it fixed by October. That sounded like a long time to wait, but we waited. Now in the 3rd week of October the issue is still not fixed, and today we receive an update to the support ticket which states "We will certainly fix it this quarter". We've had to turn off AfterShip notifications while waiting for support to fix the problem. 6+ weeks later, we still can't send out shipping notifications to our customers and support hasn't been able to fix the problem. UPDATE: 11/6/20 - still doesn't work. When will the *|ITEM_NAMES|* tag be fixed?

The customer support is too lousy. The app itself works fine. but if there is a technical issue, do expect a looooooooooog time to be fixed. As for my case, it took more than 15 days and I am still not getting a useful answer from the customer service team. You only get a standard reply "We will fix this as earliest for you, we apologize for the inconvenience caused to you."...........BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPPORT for my 1 star review
Excellent app! I used to spend A LOT of time tracking multiple parcels on multiple websites to ensure everything was going where and when it should. Now I can see all my shipments on a single webpage with clear status flags to tell me when all is well or where I need to chase things up.
And the developers even added a new courier for me when I flagged up that it wasn't on their system. How's that for good customer service!
UPDATE
We have now upgraded to the pro version of the app. It allows us to brand our tracking pages and links. I particularly love the way we can attach our Instagram feed to a customer's tracking page - we find that Instagram is the best social media for driving traffic, so we are keen to keep pushing that wherever possible. This is still the No. 1 app that we could not do without.
UPDATE JANUARY 2018
Unfortunately this app is now unable to track any consignments sent by Royal Mail in the UK, so it has become of very limited use (although it can still track other courier services). This is not any fault with Aftership - it is due to a restriction that Royal Mail have introduced (very unhelpfully!). My only complaint is that Aftership continues to import all UK Royal Mail shipments along with shipments sent via other couriers and then wants us to pay for these, even though they are not tracked. I have raised this issue with customer support several times, but just get a cut-and-paste respond that doesn't actually address the problem. For that reason I have dropped my star rating. But in the interests of fairness, it is worth noting that you will probably find this to be a very worthwhile app as long as you don't use the Royal Mail in the UK.
UPDATE FEBRUARY 2018
Unfortunately things have just got worse. To try and resolve the problem with Royal Mail items not being tracked, I simply removed it from my list of couriers. However, Aftership continues to import every single Royal Mail shipment from my online store. Tech support just send the same old cut-and-paste replies but don't actually do anything that fixes the problem.
With regret, I have to reduce my once rave review to a big fat raspberry and give it ZERO STARS (even though it won't actually let me give less than one). Time to uninstall and find something better. What a shame : (
A perfect 5/7 for billing incompetence.
TL:DR - For the love of god. don't. give. them. your. credit. card. details.
Where do I begin?
1. Hearing good things, I Install the app to poke around, see what's what.
2. Chose the "free" plan. Cool, cool cool cool.
3. Wake up a few weeks later, charged $12954 USD on the old VISA card.
4. Emailed Aftership; "Hey, so, you know that *free* plan I signed up for?"
5. Aftership explained that their "Forever Free Plan" was actually a *new* plan, and I had unwittingly managed to rack up over ten thousand dollars worth of charges without so much as a notification, or automatic plan upgrade (like every single other app in the universe would do).
6. After some back and forth via email, Aftership VERY kindly refunded me $11,955 USD, costing me $999 USD for my mistake - fair enough. Maybe I misinterpreted the meaning of the "free" plan. Fair shake of the ol' sauce bottle.
7. Fast forward to the beginning of the next month (today), I receive a credit card charge for $4355 USD, PLUS another $599 USD. I proceed to laugh, assume this is a sick joke - surely, SURELY Aftership, after charging me over ten thousand dollars, then refunding me over ten thousand dollars, would have fixed the billing mistake.
8. I check my selected plan - it's the $599 option.

I'm on Starter (Free) plan with 100 quota. Stil today charged me Invoice #FEBB46C-0022 Receipt #2245-6803 $60 USD for nothing. Even i cancel my paid membership. Once you enter the card details there is no way to remove it. They will also not willing to remove. All you need to open a dispute with your bank. This is a serious problem against PCI compliance. We are contacting with Stripe and Shopify about the issue. There is a law regarding save customer card data. And this will be a serious case file against customer rights. We will involve our company lawyer and will fight for this.

There is no such concern with the app and billing part. As per the mentioned invoice there are 120 extra tracking numbers for which you were charged. Please reply to the email and we can talk on this further.
This used to be a good app, now they are doing what fornite did to apple, this app is actually using their own payment provider against Shopify. We don’t need to give our CC information to a third party, we would rather pay via Shopify, save and easy... uninstalled the app after 1 year of usuage.
We apologize for the inconvenience. Payments via the Shopify channel are supported on AfterShip along with it we also offer the payments via cards option using our gateway. It is totally a user preference, We never force payments on our gateway.

Yes, This app is good for people with less than 100 shipments. Now, they started charging everyone who has above 100 shipments to be tracked. We have low value high volume shipments and we are ending up spending almost 40 to 60 $. It is a steep price to pay given that they advertise that everything is free here.
Be careful of unexpected charges even though you may have un installed the app 2 months earlier

So these guys are at it again. This creature called Manish is a bad apple who should be removed. I have dealt with him before so I know when he plays around. He gives a standard template reply and doesn't get back for weeks together. Remember fellows, your brand image is at stake when your customers can't view their shipment status. Terrible service. I would give 0 stars any day. 1 star is too much for this kind of service.
