Much better than other apps I’ve tried! The AI-generated alt text is accurate and does a great job of understanding the actual content of my product images. It saves me a lot of time and makes optimizing images for SEO much easier. Highly recommended!

Very useful app. I was struggling to find the time to generate good quality alt texts on all my images. I found this app and thought I would give it a try. I am very impressed. Super simple to use. As a one-woman independent fashion label, I simply don't have the time to write alt texts for hundreds of product images manually. SEO Hero has been a real time-saver — the AI actually describes the products well, picking up fabric texture, details and construction rather than just writing something generic. The before/after preview lets you check quality before applying, which I appreciated. Finally a tool that helps a small business move forward without needing a whole team behind it.

I like that it helps you make sure you are compliant with accessibility and helps save you hours of work when you didn't know to do SEO in alt text and now you have hundreds of products that need to be updated and you just want to save time as a single mom lol. But overall I recommend this app.

I have used other SEO tools that have alt-text generation as part of their package. And have compared alttext.ai to this tool, SEO HERO.

After using this app to generate natural sounding alttext I have come to the conclusion this is one of the best out there, if not the best one yet.
Basic Plan(available to all plans):
1. This tool generates alt text like natural sounding language, not keyword-stuff and generic sounding using templates.
2. Accurately describes image and gives a good context clues even a blind person can understand it with near accuracy
3. Customize the brand voice using 2 preset settings at a time, but worry not there are at least a dozen to choose from.

On the premium plan:
4. Customize how the alt text is written based on your prompt, this is crucial if you want your alt text to sound like a magazine catalog or a technical spec document
5. If the context you want can't be found in your customer-facing data like Title, description and tags, you can use custom metafields as context, which i have read that alt text ai can handle but on a higher cost per image

Overall, this is a good app for it's price, but there are some minor quirks but they aren't deal breakers, they are just UI/UX issues

6. For SEO Context: adding seo keywords means clicking outside of the field instead of pressing enter which isn't intuitive, this can be quite a hassle if you are typing the SEO keywords because you need to move the mouse pointer and click away which stops your typing momentum

7. For Product Metafield: The metafield search input field disappears after entering a search term without results, so you need to click to another section and return to refresh and make the input field appear again. A standard red text that says "not found" or similar will suffice and speed up configuration while still keeping the input field visible

VERDICT: Would recommend this tool to anyone serious about optimizing their alt text game.

We just installed this app to help enhance our accessibility and ADA compliance. We add alt tags as part of our SEO strategy, but knew we likely had many images we needed to address. Installation was easy and quick, as was the web chat when I was inquiring about purchasing additional credits.

Just downloaded the app it was a breeze. Very easy to set up. I followed the set up guide to calibrate my settings & ran a few tests - all the alt text generated was great. Reached out to customer service with a couple questions via the chat and they got back to me quickly. Very helpful. I appreciate that they have an option to pay for just a one time bulk job instead of being tied into a plan. I may end up signing up for a plan to put alt text on auto-pilot from here moving forward, but since I had over 10,000 images that needed alt text added this app was a lifesaver.
