Update (same day). I realised I wasn’t getting sales and checked the website and you can’t click anything. Have had to turn app embed off in theme settings as app in Shopify is broken. It’s caused me lost sales. Updated review to 1*
I have been using this app for a while now and although it has been okay some changes lately and app issues have crept in to compel me to rate lower now.
Recently the devs changes the visitor view and removed the ISP from the main area. Now you have to click through to each IP hit. This is a bad oversight. Today the app doesn’t even work on the Shopify app. No way to even contact them. This has happened before.

This app doesn't work.
We signed up for the Enterprise tier.... but we still get bot abandoned checkouts and page views.
Not worth the time or money.

We’d like to clarify that on Shopify, the checkout page is a protected area, meaning no third-party app (including Blockify) can fully prevent visitors or bots from entering checkout or creating abandoned checkouts. This is a platform-level limitation across the entire Shopify ecosystem, not specific to our app or plan.
What Blockify can do is help validate and restrict risky order placements and reduce bot impact through rules and filters, but abandoned checkouts cannot be completely blocked by any app.

The online chat support is very slow and unable to adequately address questions or concerns. The app itself isn’t very intuitive or clear to use. My goal was simply to exclude certain countries from accessing my website, as I noticed a sudden surge in traffic and suspected bot activity. I blocked all the countries I could identify, but unfortunately, the app failed to do what it was supposed to. I have uninstalled it and will search for a more effective solutions.

This app is not blocking the countries I requested. It is not working. Support takes too long to reply.

How Blocking Works: Our app injects a blocking interface, preventing visitors from restricted regions from viewing your store’s content.
Why You Still See Visits in Shopify Analytics: Since the initial page request is detected by third-party analytics, that visitor is counted as traffic, even though they’re met with the block page and can’t proceed further.
Providing Proof: We also offer an internal analytics tool showing which visitors are blocked. We’d be happy to share screenshots or run tests with you to confirm that visitors from restricted regions are indeed seeing the block page.
We understand the frustration when you don’t see immediate proof in Shopify Analytics, and we are always looking to improve our support speed and clarity. One star. I engaged with two support agents, Lina and later Florence. Lina stopped responding for extended periods, resulting in a chat that lasted nearly an hour solely because of prolonged response times. The issue itself was not complex, but the lack of timely communication made it impossible to proceed. By the time Florence intervened, I was already preparing to exit due to the delays.
Lina made several statements that were incorrect, contradictory, and misleading. She stated that the bots “won’t hurt anything,” despite the fact that they were actively affecting my analytics and abandoned checkout data. She also stated that “blocking is not foolproof” and the app may or may not work because bots can change their IP addresses. This directly undermines the fundamental purpose of a security and bot-prevention solution. Her claim that the free plan is primarily for “exploring” features rather than actually using them contradicts the way the app is marketed and creates a misleading expectation for new users.
Florence later reiterated the same limitations and added that DNS-level blocking, a critical security function, is still “in testing” and not available. This indicates that essential protection mechanisms are incomplete or not fully operational, regardless of whether a merchant is on a free or paid plan. For a security-focused app, this represents a significant reliability concern.
After uninstalling the app, I immediately received back-to-back emails from Florence containing shifting explanations. Additionally, within thirty minutes of the initial installation, I was already receiving promotional emails from Blockify. The frequency, timing, and volume of these emails felt excessive and spam-like.
As a small business owner, this experience was profoundly disappointing. Security tools must be dependable, transparent, and functional upon installation. Hearing directly from support that the app is “not foolproof” and may or may not work—even on paid tiers—raises serious concerns about reliability, consistency, and product readiness. Anything less than stable, predictable performance becomes a costly waste of time and resources.
I strongly encourage prospective users to review the one-star feedback as well as comments from long-term users who have relied on this app for over a year. The recurring themes in those reviews reflect the same support, performance, and reliability issues I encountered.

After uninstalling, they will make sure you get a lot of visits from your unwanted location, and many abandoned check out in daily basis.

According to our records, the app was installed for less than an hour and no support ticket was created during that time — which may have caused some confusion about how to use or configure the app properly. We truly wish we’d had the chance to guide you and help resolve any concerns.
Once the app is uninstalled, all of our scripts and codes are fully removed from your store, meaning we can no longer perform any actions or affect your site in any way. Therefore, any traffic issues occurring after the uninstall would be outside of our control, and unfortunately not something we can manage or block at that point.

I installed Blockify to manage bot traffic, but it ended up doing more harm than good. It mistakenly treated legitimate search engine crawlers (like Googlebot) as threats and blocked them. As a result, the blocking screen was indexed instead of my actual product and collection pages, which led to a major drop in my search visibility.
According to Shopify Support:
"Blockify is treating legitimate search engine crawlers as threats and showing them the blocking screen, which then gets indexed instead of your actual product pages and collections."
"This explains why disabling the app a week ago didn't help – the damage was already done to your search rankings, and recovery takes time even after fixing the root cause."
This issue has had a serious impact on my store’s organic traffic and overall SEO health. Even after uninstalling the app, recovery is slow and ongoing.
I do not recommend this app unless you're fully aware of the risks and have a way to control how it handles search engine bots.

They advertise saying they can block checkout bots, I get thousands of abandoned checkout bots a day with some placing successful orders, and even after using this app it still continues and support doesn't know why. I do not recommend it if you are having this issue.

It has no effect. It's impossible to block a country's IP address.!!!

After checking our system logs, we found that the app was not taking effect at that time because Blockify’s App Embed had not been enabled, which is required for country/IP blocking to work on Shopify.

I received several SCAM customer sign ups and two fraud orders. It is set to block all of this and the app did not deliver. 10 out of 10 would not recommend!
