the support team claimed that they were able to block visitors despite shopify still logging the visits, while after switching to a different app the visitors were gone completely.

We're sorry to hear about your experience with visit logging. We'd like to clarify that unfortunately, we're unaware of any third-party app that is able to prevent the platform's analytics from logging visits, as it records visitors at the very first moment they enter your store - before any app has a chance to load.
We encourage you to test whichever app you're currently using to verify whether it's effectively blocking visitors at the Checkout level, as that's where Blocky's strongest capabilities are.

Useless for me it failed to stop bots using vpn on all of my 3 stores. Disappointing.

overcharged me immediately to almost $200 within first week!!! need a refund immediately.
I am questioning if this works. I have all countries besides US blocked and also VPN blocked becaue I was getting alot of fake email subscribers. Well now I am getting many successful and unsuccessful orders from these blocked countries. It is obvious they are running credit cards to see which work and some of the orders go through and some are declined. When checking the transaction gateway details in the Shopify order page, it shows the country the order was placed from (Russia, Malaysia, Algeria, etc). I then have to cancel these fraudulent orders however I still have to pay the credit card processing fees as those are non-refundable. Therefore, Blocky is not doing it's job at blocking these countries. Perhaps the bots used are too fast for the Blocky app to trigger a block. I have contacted customer support and was told the development team would get back to me and they never did. So I will be cancelling.

Funny how a fraud blocker is fraudulently posting advertising they have a free plan. THEY DO NOT.

We appreciate you pointing this out. To clarify, the free plan is available for stores on the Shopify Development plan, as clearly noted at the bottom of the App Store listing page. For stores on regular Shopify plans, we offer a 7-day free trial, after which paid plans apply.
If you're on a development store and the free plan didn't appear automatically, our support team would be more than happy to help get that sorted - we've also reached out to you privately. :-)

I manually track and investigate traffic activity when customers download freebies from my site to weed out bots. When I first installed the app I quickly began blocking bot IP addresses and yesterday an IP that I thought was blocked was able to get through and download another free product. The blocker DID NOT DO ITS JOB. if you use this software make sure you manually track and investigate customer profiles.
Btw, the software isn't very effective if you're not getting the Pro Plan, you're pretty much forced to get it.

Do Not USE this app.... incredibly below awful not even average app. So may better apps for cheaper on shopify. The support was so useless and rude then left my store open to multiple attacks, do to the underperformance of the "bot" as well as the design in software. Do yourself a favor and don't use this beyond useless app, with incredibly rude and awful support.
