Cart Block: checkout validator

Fabio has been so helpful in getting us set up to use cartblock. Our situation was a bit complicated, and he sorted it all out for us! This app does exactly what it says..it provides a clean way to block customers from checking out based on rules you set up.

I have a few products marked as $0 in my store because I am not permitted to put the pricing online, and even though I customized the "Add to Cart" button to say "Contact for Pricing", people would still click and check out these items at $0 (products have a $4,000-$14,000 value range). This app allowed me to set a rule that products below $1 cannot be checked out and it completely stopped the $0 orders! Took me about 3 minutes to set up once I installed the app, super easy!!

i was having issues with scammers testing stolen credit cards on my site and i wanted to prevent this. i reached out to shopify for assistance with getting v3 added to my checkout but per shopify it's only available to those on the plus plan.

after a few days of research i ran across this app and tested it out - i had to reach out to customer service to assist me with making sure the app would prevent the card testing and after a few emails, we set up a call so that we could make sure the app would in fact prevent card testing. during the call customer service noticed that an update to the app was needed and made me aware that they would update the app and get back to me. less than 5 hours later i received confirmation that the app had been updated, allowing me the ability to set new rules.

since then the almost hourly card testing attempts have stopped. i am so very grateful for this app the customer SUPPORT. if you have card testing issues on your site, this is the app for you!

Dealing with bots abandoning checkout because they are attempting different credit card numbers. This app allows me to set up rules to block these bots from checking out. They will still try but their attempts will be futile, so if they come across and use a card number that works, it will be blocked. In time they have slowed down as I believe it sees my store as not being able to do what they want.

It is working when you can identify bots as having similar profiles (in this case they all use the same fake address and phone area code) if bots change their strategy you have to find the commonality and set up another block.

This a very promising app and beneficial for merchants who need to block certain customers or orders on their store.

The support team is absolutely amazing and took the time to meet with me to resolve some issues with the app. The reason we gave it 4 stars is because there are still some issues depending on how you decide to block customers (there are multiple scenarios you can choose from). This isn't necessarily an issue with the merchant itself as there are some limitations with developing an app for Shopify. However, if you run into any issues we recommend contacting them for a one-on-one call before giving up.

We highly recommend this app. There are not many options for this functionality (and honestly this may be the only one).
