Upsell & Cross Sell by SSC

Shopify told us this app was causing major issues with our store – we left an honest review and reached out to the developers through shopify. We also left our initial 5 star review visible below in good faith as working with Stuart in 2017 had been amazing and we hadn’t had issues with the app before.

My team and I were rather taken aback by the overall tone of the emails we received from Josh regarding ‘customers qualms’ when referring to our major issue, but we tried to put it down to his own frustration with Shopify itself.

Shopify now believes the app is not at fault.

As clients we have little to go on other than what Shopify tells us.

We have always loved the app – that is why we didn’t uninstall it as the guru had initially urged us to. We are however very disappointed with how this extremely frustrating situation was handled by Cross Sell’s customer service when communicating directly with us. Their frustration should have been directed at Shopify who named their app the issue rather than us, the customer.

Stuart went above and beyond - i have a custom theme that many people tell me stops integrations of apps but oh no Stuart got it working - tried multiple layouts until we found the one that worked the best. Amazing customer servers.

Brilliant product - I'm so excited to showcase related products to my clients ... and for the price, wow pretty impressed! I will be a long term customer.

Simple and straight-forward. Scheduling sales is easy.

Have found this a useful tool for trying to alert customers to products they may be interested in. Went for this option rather than Directed Edge as we are a new business with budget restraints. App works well and does what it says on the tin,but I have found picking recommendations has been quite time consuming. There are limits to what can be achieved with this app, as it is functioning at a fairly basic level. Staff very helpful and responsive when I had questions. Set me up so I can use the reciprocal cross sell at its early stage. Really appreciated this. This is good for products that are part of a series.

On my second or third month now. I had very fast response in the beginning, to get me up and going. It was minutes and on an Australian Saturday evening too!

However, with close to 2000 items, to cross-sell, I'm finding it needs some short-cuts, so products can be edited one after another, next, next, next instead of returning to the search.

To clarify that:

Initially I did "fast selling items" which was a collection of 160 items, and I was able to pull that collection, and do next, next, etc.

However, once I'd done that, I wanted to do items without "cross-sells" but I don't seem able to do next, next with that.

Also, the "link together" check box is less than straightforward, and I think "link togethers" down the track, may cancel out previous "link together"

Maybe a "random" option may be helpful. Where if you have 56 "link togethers" for an item, they randomly select the 15 items each time that page is loaded.

None of this is a real criticism, it's just what I find, having many items to work through.

I made suggestions to the developer, and they very quickly got back to me, saying my suggestions would be carried into the further development of the app.

I have 647 more cross-sells to edit, and I'm trying to get them done as swiftly as I can, as I can see the difference having the app has made.

I just wish my initial website builder, had selected Cross-sell instead of Recommendify which is a lot more expensive and not as good.

Super easy to install and use. Looks great on our website. The only reason I don't give it a five is my wish for a bulk upload feature in the future!

Great app, but the interface could use some work, looks a little funny

A good starting app for offering Cross Sell in store. So far this app has been really easy to use and has enabled us to serve a mix of generic and tailored product recommendations to all customers. The set up was easy and our development team had no problem integrating this into our theme. The Conversion Stats don't seem to be working which means we need to track the use via another method.

So far so good, there's a few things that need to be looked into but Steve was extremely helpful in setting up the app on our site and more than accommodating in making the app fit with our theme!

Love this app! It sure has been easy to set up their support is great and most importantly it has increased our average sale. My hope is that they will be able to add a hand picked Cart Cross Sell. Overall this app is great and we are happy!
