The discount fee's stopped working with the latest POS update. No response from the app about our enquiries about this. Would love a reply so that we can get this working again.
Hello! Sorry for the issue you faced recently. Many Shopify apps were affected by the latest Shopify POS update, including ours. Could you please check your spam folder? We tried to reply to you ASAP, maybe our mail went to spam.
Now, Shopify POS started working correctly with third-party apps and we want to check if it also started working for you.
Sorry again for that situation, we are trying to do as many as possible. I hope it won’t happen again.
App does work as required - adds percentage based surcharge to POS checkouts. However it is not able to calculate a surcharge at any point of adding items to the checkout (only at the end). Lastly, the time taken to apply the surcharge to the checkout is far too long (as long as 20 seconds).
I'm not sure of the math on that but in a 6-8 our working day serving customers at the POS, were losing lots of sales time in waiting for a surcharge to apply.
Hello. Yes, you are right. Our app tries to imitate fees by adding custom items to your cart. Unfortunately, today there is no technical ability to add them differently on Shopify POS. We know it's a huge limitation, and we'd love to change this when technically possible.
As for loading. Yes. It's another technical limitation we are fighting today. All third-party apps on Shopify POS are websites. So, to apply fees, you need to download the app from the web every time. I know it sounds terrible, but there is no way to download it to use offline. We hope it will change one day. Unfortunately, we can't influence it in any way today. :(
